Was reading the Star Wars thread, Septimus made a special post that prompted me to wonder what everyone else's thoughts are. He claims:
I have agreed with the above almost entirely for a long time and have been told I am fool. I love Nicholson in The Shining and Pacino in GlenGary Glenross, De Niro to me has pretty much one role down extremely well, the gangster role, though he was good in Hells Peak I thought.Originally Posted by Septimus
As far as other overrated, the fact Ben Affleck is even considered an actor bewilders me. He is so god damn god awful, I cant watch him in anything outside of his small role in Mall Rats. He was mediocre in boiler room at best, and Alec Baldwin's speech in Glengarry Glen ross (his best acting performance ever and one of my favs in a movie of all time, link provided: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TROhlThs9qY) shits on Ben's mock performance of it.
Underrated, Christian Bale, Edward Norton, and Joaquin Pheonix dont get the props they deserve, though they are close, and eventually will I think.
What do you guys/gals think?
Edit: And Daniel Day Louis is highly underrated. One of the best out there too.
