Most Overrated/Underrated Actors

Although Adam Sandler hasn't exactly produced grade A stuff lately, he definitely isn't OVERrated. Happy Gilmore, Bill Madison, and Big Daddy are some of the greatest comedies made over the last 10 years.

The new movie he is coming out with looks pretty funny too.

I'm with tyche on the actors that exceed all forms of popularity and deserve it, especially with the matt damon mentions. Though I also think pitt's a great actor and should be on that list. I like norton a lot too. As for the Denzel parentheses, Man on fire was such an awesome movie I could watch it a dozen times and not get sick of it. Kevin spacey is another person I like to watch. I really like house so I'll agree with the Laurie mention.

As for overrated, Pacino comes to mind off the bat, Tobey Maguire also (and it ticks me off seeing as how I'm pretty much the biggest spider-man nerd I can think of). I like when Deniro doesn't take himself seriously. Cruise, Zeta Jones, Affleck outside of a smith flick (and even so that's not a rule). Most of the cast from friends.

Terrence Howard pisses me off. He only seems to ever do black-centric movies and doesn't stray into meaty themes aside from racism against black people. Compare to Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington who do those kind of movies but also take much broader roles and tend to avoid just being 'that angry black dude.' Terrence Howard only ever does that kind of movie or movies where 99% of the cast is black. Will Ferrell experiments with more roles than Terrence.

Killin me smalls. Yeah he does do alot of pro black movies. But he does them well. He was awesome in Four Brothers. That was kind of about both blacks and whites. lol but his most memorable performance was in that racist ass movie, Crash. I mean he couldn't possibly act the scene out where they get pulled over, any better.

But I do agree with you, he does need to branch out from black only movies, cause he could make some kickass movies.

I know it has been said before, but Tom Cruise is terribly overrated. I find him very nasal and annoying while acting.
Also, Michael J. Fox doesn't get enough credit, even though his acting days are soon to be over. In before meme.

Most of the people that would make either of my lists have been mentioned already, so I won't repeat. However one person who I don't think was mentioned was Roberto Benigni. Anyone who has doesn't know who he is or has can't remember needs to go and rent "A Beautiful Life" today.

I can't recall any other movies or recognition for Jared Leto aside from Alexander and him being in 30 Seconds From Mars , someone enlighten me as to their reasons for naming him? I'd be pretty disappointed if neither Bale, Norton or DiCaprio don't ever win an oscar by the time their respective careers are over. I would've added Daniel Craig to the list had he not starred in Casino Royale, he'll probably be in the shadow of Connery and Moore to quite a few Bond fans but I feel in general a lot of people were pleased with his performance.
