The Steel Cyclone depicted was pre-heca cap (Genbu's kabuto instead) and pre-ares body(NQ hauberk) bergressor/SA/WC/warcry/MS coeurl sub for food no brd songs.

Questions for improvements on SC setup. Rutter sabatons > than heca? I would think with 3str 2vit and 5atk > 6str but maybe that's just me. Also how much of an improvement can vit make? Haven't bought Palla's yet and do eventually intend to shell out the dough for Alky's but when I tested af2 vs. heca on tiamat i wasn't so impressed. I personally at the time liked af2 better. Otherwise vampire/triumph earrings soon, but 400k/800k alot to shell out for a ws set on a job that I hardly see playtime on. Still working on gorget too >.> just need a few more aern and like 4 phuabo.

If this is in another thread already my apologies. I've been searching BG for a few days now without much to be found as for 'the best' tested SC setup. Appreciate any comments thanks.

look at my inventory, and fyi can't DA x2 in a single hit ws, so if using WC i macro out brutal for merman's.

Vampire/Triumph or 2x Vampire for WC macro.
Snow or Aqua Gorget
Alky's > Jesus for Steel Cyclone
Heca feet > Rutters so bad it's not funny
Mbhuj for any time you're not saving to 300 Tp, or use Perdu for opening WS with store TP > Swap to Mbhuj for things that RR wont do so well on.

I think I remember someone testing genbus vs heca and genbus came out slightly above. However i think the difference was pretty minimal.

Alkys are obviously the best for the hand slot.

In the case of Genbu vs Heca. Could someone care to clarify why a secondary attribute of almost equal amount would outweigh a primary that affect more than one value in the weapon skill formula?

Heca > Kabuto

I would use 5 or 6 Str over Kabuto honestly, as I'm fairly sure it would perform better.

Regarding the 300% TP, if you're not using Mbhuj for Steel Cyclone at 100-200%, odds are you will do better with Raging Rush unless it's just a really high level mob where the crits will suck.

The difference between a 100% Actual Tp, a 100% Mbhuj, and a 200% Mbhuj WS is pretty noticeable, but in most cases without stacking SA, firing off at 100% will do more damage, as you generally won't get double your 100% Tp damage, and DA's tend to be more beneficial to non-critted 100% Steel Cyclones, as the flat FTP bonus makes it a bigger boost relatively.

Just pulling some numbers from sky last night, 100% no DA being 700-800 on Aura Stats, 1050-1150 with a DA, vs 1500 no DA ~1800ish with a DA at 200%, a 300 Dmg boost is almost 50% at 100, vs 30% at higher Tp.

Generally though, if I go /Sam to stuff like Dio farming, I find myself holding onto Tp a bit, just because it's easier to finish the mob off with a 200% TP WS, as opposed to dropping a 100% to start the fight and eating more of the already drained MP from all the AoE they do.

Regarding OP.

While observing the screen shot I couldn't help but stare at the lack of accuracy. Sure GA is the A+ skill. Most merit it nowadays, myself included. But without a SA wouldn't you risk whiffing you WS more often than desired on anything ITish or over? I'm not saying you'll miss your WS all the time but it should still have a poor performance no? I dunno, I'm never that low on Acc.

As for Ares' body, I've seen 0 body pieces drop in my salvage group so far and lord knows we've tried

Laying on ACC for Steel Cyclone is going to result in sadface WS. For multi-hit like Rampage or Raging Butt, ACC is going to have a direct influence on the damage output. The only way I can really explain it for Steel Cyclone is like a SAM-Zanshin build. Its ensuring you'll have poor results. Honestly, I've never completely whiffed Steel Cyclone on anything big. The only time I get 0 tp return is when I'm fighting something lol in front of a bunch of people.

[edit] Oh, and ALSO why Hecaboots will outperform Rutter Sabatons is that you don't have that stupid knobby-knee gap between AF2 legs and your boots. This is extremely important in maximizing your ownage.

Really though, I rarely ever whiff an entire Steel Cyclone where it matters.

I've whiffed the double many at times, and on occasion toss a fully buffed 1% return out, which suuuucks, but I don't really sub Thf for the accuracy though it's nice. It's for the crit.

3STR + 3DEX vs 5Att +2VIT? You guys keep talking like it's going to stomp all over the Rutter's cornflakes, but if anything the difference would be minimal, and, like most things in this game, fucking situational.
