appreciate the replies guys, pretty much got what I was expecting but just wasn't exactly sure on some of the gear slots. Oh I suppose I should've added that's a fortitude torque until i can finish my snow gorget. I waited a good while on my ares body, I had the 35 for well over 6months and 12/12 ingots for 2-3 months towards the end. LBC wouldn't put out then had to wait another week to setup a frog run for 15 body. >.> It pays well to be in my HNMLS but getting the 25/15 was the biggest pain in the ass, and most people complain about the ingots/35 took me more time to get 15/25 QQ.

And about the af2 + rutters, that's what I normally use to run around in cuz dusk hands blow. People bitch at me all the time for my no pants/knees showing >.>

3STR + 3DEX vs 5Att +2VIT? You guys keep talking like it's going to stomp all over the Rutter's cornflakes, but if anything the difference would be minimal, and, like most things in this game, fucking situational.

You're right that the difference is small, but how the hell is it situational? Heca feet are better in any situation.

Vampire/Triumph or 2x Vampire for WC macro.
Snow or Aqua Gorget
Alky's > Jesus for Steel Cyclone
Heca feet > Rutters so bad it's not funny
Mbhuj for any time you're not saving to 300 Tp, or use Perdu for opening WS with store TP > Swap to Mbhuj for things that RR wont do so well on.

the difference is that STR (without STR mod) is almost always better than any modifier stat when numbers are close, and especially here when STR IS a modifier stat. 3 STR vs. 2 VIT is no contest, and the ATK numbers are much closer when you add the attack mod from the STR difference (2 I think? Dunno how rounding would work). I'm not even adding the tiny acc and possible crit mod from the dex. So yeah I'd say that they're strictly better, though I wouldn't call you a noob if you were wearing rutters.

Can't crit Steel Cyclone without SA or MS, and Dex won't affect that, but it does add 1.6ish Acc.

6 Str, 4.8ish Att, 1.6ish Acc
3 Str, 6.6ish Att, 2 Vit towards mod (amounts to something like 0.5 Str I think?)

Str > All for Steel Cyclone unless you can get 3x as much of something else.

I went from being happy to break 1700 on Kirin with 69+48 Str 63+13 Vit, to hitting a 1950 with a freaking Fortitude Axe, and shooting for 2200 with 70+67 Str, 63+34 Vit (with vampire/in WC gear) and my Mbhuj, if I could just catch him at night on firesday for a max epeen Mighty Axe shot...

Here's my idea of ideal gear for just whacking the crap out of stuff with Steel Cyclone:
Gaxe varies/Mythril +1~Axe~Pole depending on situation/_/Bomb Core
Nhead/Gorget/Brutal~Vampire~Str+2~Fenrir's (depending on WC/Night/etc)
Are's cuirass~Osode/Alky's/Flame/Rajas
Smilo +1/Warwolf/Are's legs~AF2 legs/Heca feet

Note: yes, I do have my Warrior's charge macro set to swap the brutal out for steel cyclone, and from my testing I found the 3 Str on Smilo +1 did better than the 12 or so Attack diff on Am +1

I'd try out Maats for Raging rush, but for Steel Cyclone, 4 Str > 7 Vit.

if you WC that 300% SC then yes most likely, but if all 3 100% SC proc DA aswell then no

Since we got on the subject, and from reading I'm still not entirely clear. Perdu voulge RR > Mbhuj RR? I think it was said Mbhuj SC > RR with any other weapons but not sure. Quite honestly I'm still by lol'd by RR's performance even after it's update and 2hd update to me still doesn't seem to come even close to 200% SC(100TP + Mbhuj). Many times in good merit parties, brd/cor, 2xbrd, etc mobs die fast enough that I tend to hold on to tp when the mob is like 20% or lower. With /sam occasionally and DA's going off etc. storing to 200% doesn't hurt my DoT at all. So gogo 200% Mbhuj SC for sick dmg (1600-2k+ normally depending mobs/buffs). I of course look at which JA timers are up atm and so tend to use this method alot of times for the warcry/WC WS when bergressor on.

Edit: When you broke down heca feet vs. rutters, how is 3 str = 1.6 on those (6.6-5) vs. 6 str = 4.8 on heca?
Editx2: Smilo+1 > than foragers? I have a hard time believing on any job 2 str > 15 atk especially on the crap I hardly get to go to war as, khim/tia pretty much it.

It's situational based on several different factors
1) The mob you're fighting (Whether or not Att is capped)
2) Subjob you're using (Guaranteed acc/Crit)
3) The type of WS you're using

For this certain situation I can agree that Heca feet would be a LITTLE better, but by no means are they the end all be all of war feet options. Especially with Amir/Rutters/Heca available.

Yes you could argue amir/ares feet could be useful if you are lacking acc for multi-hit, but that's not relevant. There is NO situation where rutters would beat out heca for any WS at all. Rutters are just plain worse (althou very slightly), there's nothing situational about it.

How about the situations where 5 att > 3 STR? Or am I still missing those invisible stats? And before you say that the 3DEX makes the difference, at least try to fathom that, if accuracy wasn't an issue, it wouldn't matter, and would therefore result in a circumstance where (GASP!) Rutters win.

For Steel Cyclone, I've never found pure attack from gear better than using food/berserk attack, and stacking Str.

Nevermind when I'm getting Minuets.

Perdu/Rampager/Berserker's/Byakko's/Fortitude/Rune Chopper are for RR spam, preferably with a good balance of Str/Dex (my RR build, when complete, but missing Nhead, will have 50 Str/47 Dex), 300 Tp Steel Cyclones are nice, but I use Mbhuj mostly in sky because RR doesn't hold up as well against most of the mobs with my Dex build, whereas Steel Cyclone even at100% TP rocks.

look at my inventory, and fyi can't DA x2 in a single hit ws, so if using WC i macro out brutal for merman's.

I would use byakko haidate on Raging Rush and Galliard on Steel Cyclone if they're are NO other str alternatives.

I'd use Haidate over anything for Raging Rush.

For Steel Cyclone without SATA on like Byakko or something I'd probably use em for a high eva WS macro with Ohat too.

Yes, Perdu kicks the crap off of MBhuj for RR. The reason is that for SC the TP mod changes from 100 to 200 to 300 is huge, and an extra 100 TP is worth the weapon damage decrease. With RR, the TP mod is minimal, and you're better off with not only a higher weapon, but one with natural atk and acc mods during WS. Sorry I don't have exact numbers for you, but if you look up weaponskill TP mods in bgwiki or something you'll see what I mean
