BRD formulas.

Ok. I've done alot of looking and research, and I can't find exactly what i'm looking for.

Which would be detailed formulas on brd skill singing and wind for debuffs, not to mention the CHR:Skill ratio (don't know if that's the right way to describe it)

(And no, this is not one of those omfgismyskillgoodenoughtolandonhnmlol threads.)

Anyways, I'm going to do some of my own testing of course, but I certainly wouldnt mind a push in the right direction if other people have what I'm looking for~

As far as I can tell, EXP and HNM definatly(sp) have a different resist rate for songs, but I can't say for sure as I haven't been able to test on HNM yet, as I have recently hit 75.

Um, BRD songs... well, um... you can have a pair of songs on a person and, um... Bards can use wind and string instruments, so that makes two, and they go back and forth and back and forth and, um... they provide needed support...

Been trying to figure this out for almost a year, mainly using the bosses in Nyzul Isle. No real clear conclusions, I'm afraid. Might want to ask a tricked out Gjalla + AF+1 + Salvage gear BRD.

Atm I just use +skill wherever I can get it, +CHR everywhere else, and +MP if neither of those are available.

As I understand, it goes like this:

Instrument(Wind/Sing) + Singing skill are equal potency when casting BRD buffs.
It could be assumed that this is probably true for BRD debuffs.

Higher combined skill will increase the potency of BRD buffs.
BRD debuff potency is set per spell, and only their resistance rate is affected.
(Resistance as in a 1/2 resist on elegy or lullaby will reduce their duration[not potency] by 1/2.)

+Instruments for BRD buffs increase duration + potency.
+Instruments for BRD debuffs increase only duration.

CHR does not affect BRD buffs.
CHR only helps resistance in landed BRD debuffs, not potency.


If I'm wrong in any of that, feel free to correct me. I've done numerous tests /w BRD buffs, but not many /w debuffs. I don't think there will be any formulas to be found in determining the resistance rate for BRD debuffs. It would be analogous to finding the resist rate on paralyze for xp mobs and fafnir. There's no magic numbers to reach for, just experience in knowing a good skill/chr vs song delay-/haste that works.

Good summary Kirschy. We can also add one more important stat for Bards: Magic Accuracy!

Macc would do the same thing as CHR, and the assumed formula is 2 CHR = 1 Macc

I believe Foe Requiem doesn't fit my summary. I think +instrument adds to dot... not 100% sure. If any BRDs out there know for sure, correct me~
