They introduced Haki in the first or second chapter, when Shanks scared away the Sea Dragon that bit off his arm.

I know. I'm not saying it wasnt planned, it's just that it was officially introduced 500 chapters too late for my taste. There is just too many haki user for it to be a secrets.

And also it is in the 1st chapter, mantra was on sky island, Shanks used it again when he came aboard Whitebeard's ship after Enies lobby. Haki has been a long time coming, and isn't "out of no where."

The detailed explanation is out of nowhere. Calling it willpower alone would have been fine, we didn't need different type with different powerlevel or w/e.

If it remains like it is right now...it's not so bad, but that kind of power always get out of hand in shonen.

This has been a long time coming, honestly. Skypea, the CP9 stuff, and then after TB we have Luffy using Haki on the bulll, seeing it in the AH, then a ton during Amazon Lily etc.

I love it because it's not some raging plothole like in Bleach. You can tell that Oda had and has plans for this story, and it give me a lot of confidence (outside of the already crisp writing) that he's in full control of his manga and that the story will proceed without any "huh?!" moments that just make you grit your teeth, something we seemingly get every week with Bleach.

Haki sounds like its going to be an excellent addition to the straw hat crew, especially as they won't be able to successfully take out Logia types without it. Hell, I'd like to see Zoro get a new sword after his mihawk training coated in that haki metal that the amazons use. Maybe he'll get his own form of Haki from his training.

Someone out there has got to be strong enough to take Akainu down, or at least hurt him, and if Luffy ever wants to avenge his brother and his name, he has to be the one to do it, and he ain't doin' squat without haki.

The thing with Haki (which you can probably call willpower if it really bugs you) is that it enables Oda to get away from playing Pokemon with any of the Logia type. Sure the water/blood for Croc and rubber for Enel were clever, but eventually you get to the point where it's just waiting for Luffy to find the right element while he gets his ass kicked. And some of the Logia you'd have to stretch just to find a counter element, i.e. Kizaru, Akainu, or Magellan.

It might also be time for Luffy to move away from Gear Second and Third or vastly improve upon them.

I don't think we will see a true end to exploit weakness for massive damage, just now it wont be the only way to attack logias, also it will apply to attacking non-logias too like how luffy was hurt from blunt force trauma if haki was used.

Side note I'm pretty sure Garp's fist's of love also have haki in them, lmao hitting your grandchild to show affection.

You cant really use Bleach as a standard for storytelling right now, not unless you want a very low standard. Anyway, there is more good than bad in one piece, but it doesnt mean everything has to be perfect.

i can see zoro when he starts training again for luffy during his practice he does asura and mihawk destroys sandai kitetsu. i want that to happen so bad cus his shuusui and wado ichimonji are ryo wazamono, 21 best swords. so the cursed 1 just ruins it by being the lowest grade of sword. nidai kitetsu is a ryo wazamono 2 so it makes sense if he gets three of them lol. where he gets it from i dunno, maybe he finds kitetsu the blacksmith somewhere later.
since sandai is the weakest out of the three i guess its curse would be too, making zoro stronger with more badassery.

the haki explanation was well deserved, and mantra finally being linked 2 it (yaaaaaaaaay i won a bet) and luffy cant beat over 500 creatures on that island :0 wooow serious improvement

i can see nami,franky and usopp being the most vastly different from before. franky+vegapunk schematics=suuuuper franky schematics, kuma strength and a bigger scarier look

usopp+heracles+cruel island=muscular usopp, able to run whilst sniping and okay at close combat

nami+weather ball+haredas= one piece storm (from xmen) no questions asked

for the rest i imagine a descent if not expected power up

chopper+plants= controlling moster point and learning new medicines and drugs for battle

robin+dragons training= top archaeologist,strength increase, fanboy dreams of her learning rokushiki (imagine how many rapestomps she can do! 100 arm shigan!, 2000 leg rankakyu!) main strategist

sanji+99 fights+ivankov=45 new kick attacks 4 diable jambe (he does base his attacks on food) and 49 new ones on a new leg form that focuses on okama kenpos precise pressure attacks (wind leg anybody?)

last but not least the least obvious is brook.
now i guess everybody is thinking that he should just learn music but nah he should just ditch swordsmanship altogether, everbody on the crew should be different, we dont need two swordsmen, otherwise hell always be inferior to zoro... soooooo this is my prediction!
he will bust outta the jail after finally gainig the power of destruction (you know the thing when you slash and pressurised air gets fired out?) and learn music from the longarm tribe, then return to the previous island and ditch swords for a horse which can transform into a guitar by devil fruit, (i would like him to somehow have an undead horse lol, well oda did say that he resembles one haha fanboy dreams) the guitar/horse= a guitar that uses the vibrations from the plucking in his music to hurt his opponent and a rock god transformation when he gets serious, he gets amps from his skull and becomes rock bones brook, 20x stronger than b4!!!!!!!!!!!!

looool the above is something i would like to happen but is never going to become reality, just a speculation, frankly i dunno how brook is gonna power up but it will be awesome! XD

Haki by most still seems to by a mysterious power, Enel didn't know he was using and most likely didn't even know how it worked. Right now it also seems like CP9 could have been using haki to some extent without knowing it as well (Lucci hurting Luffy with blunt hits, tekkai), or at least it was under a different name and not encorparating all of its abilities. Smoker also mentioned haki as amazon haki instead of just as haki as you would imagine he would were it found commonly through different parts. So "haki" is probably not known as "haki" to even most haki users in OP. Robin can be excused for not knowing as she could have read of things like martial arts in some islands that use it but still be unaware of it to any real extent. The size of OP means even if the top tiers talked about it to the younger crew members, Coby was trained by Garp but GArp still didn't tell him anything, iot might not get around.

If you put it like this, I guess it could make sense. Luffy not knowing about haki is just like him, and I've no issue with it. However, character like Robin who are pretty knowledgeable not knowing about it is what I have trouble to buy.

Thing is Robin never really shows her cards unless she has to. I have no doubt she trusts Luffy and has no intent on using the crew any further than she already has stated (finding her past) however if she knew anything she wouldn't have a reason to tell the straw hats because she doesn't appear to be able to use it.
