I wouldnt say that necessarily. The big guy doesn't seem to have any real strengths. Everyone is just afraid of him because of who he says he is. He's probably just a pushover, literally.

This, exactly. Part of what I'm really hoping for in this next arc of OP is that Luffy's return marks a turning point in the deterioration of the world since Whitebeard's death and the rise of Blackbeard. Whereas Blackbeard is the selfish, evil bringer of chaos and those who have followed in his wake are the 'might makes right' type that got folks like Sabo killed, Luffy's outlook on life would create a world where folks get along and stop trying to stomp the other guys down just because they can. Luffy's reborn presence alone should reinforce this, scare the impostors straight and hooray common folk don't live in fear of these jerk-ass pirates now that the Strawhats are around to keep them in line. Bring on the supernovas and eventually, Blackbeard.

I didn't think of this, but it may be a possibility. Rayleigh being there is probably enough to keep most of the people in check if Luffy asks for his help.

So based on the dude Nami was talking to, sounds like Blackbeard is officially an Emperor. Really doubt someone else could've stepped up to that level besides him. Just makes the fight with him and Luffy so much sweeter. Only 5 more years until that.

Buggy got the letter from the Government at the end of a chapter. I'm not sure what he's up to, my guess is one of the Shichibukai or something Government related.
