Mihawk's eyes don't have inherent power, that's just the way he looks. If that's not true I'll eat my words, but I don't think Oda is as interested in weird eyes as Kishi.

In general I think it is to play up Zoro and Sanji's rivalry, especially since now Zoro uses his right eye and Sanji uses his left.

Regarding the one eye, I remember reading in Yaiba how it would be better accuracy for for a swordsmen with one eye. XD Or at least there's +s & -s with it ;x

I dont know much about swordmanship, but losing depth perception cant really help your accuracy

The whole logic behind swordsmanship is kinda thrown out the windows when the said character holds a fucking sword with his mouth.

Pretty much. ;x I highly doubt anything they do to Zoro will ever make him weaker at this point in time.

How much depth perception do you really need when combat is typically within a few feet of you?

I think it's just classic pirate mythos more or less not much to do with anything else. I can't say I'm a fan of him losing an eye but maybe if he gets an eye patch it'll look better lol.

Stuff like depth preception doesn't matter anyways everything is 2D. >.>

I was replying to the comment above my last post. Zoro is obviously not weaker because training in a shonen can only make you stronger. the missing eyes is just for aesthetic

Depth perception has nothing to do with far object. Close objet will suffer even more from it, since the angle between your eyes and the object is even more steep..

I'm sure one of the crew members (probably Sanji) will ask him about it in one of the next few chapters. It's not like they're going to not notice him losing an eye. It probably won't be a really big deal if he did lose it, he can cut a ship in half, but there just doesn't seem like a good reason for it to be gone.

you know? part of me actually wished I waited another 4 weeks and just read 4 chapters all at once...the epicness of one piece really just make each weak in between that much harder to bear.
