It was filler in the fact that the anime added more davy back fights. Feel free to skip those, I usually watch all fillers but that shit just pissed me off so much lol.

Even in the manga, the whole arc felt like a filler in a way, but it was so hilarious that I didn't care.

I'm not crazy about the idea of Perona joining--she just doesn't seem that special to me. Speaking of which, what positions are still missing in terms of roles for the ship?

Either a lookout or a cannoner, unless ussop is doing both roles. Zoro seems to like the lookout spot but he is always asleep

I would just read the manga for the Davy back fight arc, just cause every canon episode is ingrained with filler and has a some filler-induced plot-holes/contradictions. Generally speaking if you find any spot to slow, just read it instead.

I personally burned through all the anime in about 2.5 weeks, but that was when there was about 100 less episodes to watch. I didn't like the filler arcs accept for the alternate universe ones and the G8 base.

I'm not convinced Vegapunk is fully backing the WG, and wouldn't be surprised if at some point down the road he flipped a switch and the whole PX army turned on the WG and gave Kuma his memories back.

first half

Mohmoo came out
As everyone guessed
Mohmoo is pulling Caliboo's ship, and it comes crashing towards into Sunny
Cariboo gang tries to abord the Sunny, but Nami notices Mohmoo and cries out, which notifies Luffy and Sanji who both recognize Momu
short flashback to Arlong Park

Only Cariboo came abord the Sunny, as soon as he did Mohmoo ran away lol
Cariboo gives order to slaughter them, but then he realizes he's alone

He was almost thrown out into the sea by Franky, but he begged for his life and was spared
But Cariboo is a liar, and Usopp even sees through his lies
He looked at Nami pervertedly and was kicked in the face by Sanji
They tied him up in ropes, but it seems he could get out of it easily
Cariboo realizes 1 vs 9 is not in his favor, so he'll sit through for now

second half

Apparently there's a deep current running in the depth of ocean, and this is explained. For details, read Jump
And they come across a massive waterfall
Cariboo is panicking, telling the crew to go back
Under the fall lives a demon of the sea that never bores of murder, the enemy of humanity... a Gigantic Kraken appears!
Several ships that set sail in the past few days are seen falling pray to the Kraken
Cariboo is yelling out he doesn't want to die, and Luffy tells him SHUT UP! I got a great idea! Let's tame it!

The gag-scenes when Usopp, Luffy, Zoro, and Chopper are listening to Nami's explanation was funny

Mohmoo was caught near the area it seems.
Cariboo said advanced sailors catch Sea creatures like him to sail around under the water
You know how Kraken is a large squid?
Luffy's idea came up because Cariboo mentioned advanced pirates use sea creatures.
Cariboo is hiding the fact he's a devil fruit user
You know how Logia can become solid and tangible at will? I think he's not becoming tangible because he wants to hide it
He doesn't have a chance of winning alone.

Sanji's kick was a furious one, of course.
Oh, and there's a scene where Cariboo looks terrified at Zoro lol

First page cracked me up
Chopper sees a whale, and goes "WHALE! A whale!"
Brook: LABOOOOOOON!!
Luffy: No, that's old man Whitebeard!

As for terrified at Zoro thing
Zoro asked him: Who the hell are you? You're the captain of that ship, right?
And Cariboo thought to himself "WHOA Roronoa Zoro!!" then he quickly made excuses lol

Fucking Mohmoo from the Arglong Park fight is back. Oda pulling an awesome Oda I guess, haha. And no fight with Cariboo yet. Albeit I'm excited to see them tame this Kraken. Also, no chapter next week sucks =/
