I agree with what you added, but I was more getting at the fact that he voluntarily chose to use one sword despite all the other stuff that was going on. He was basically saying "I'm not taking this seriously, brofish."

BB's plan doesn't seem to have had that planned, his plan seems to mostly made on the fly. BB's plan was originally to find any pirate with a good bounty (at this point I think we can say he was looking for a supernova) and he found Luffy first. When he finds out Ace is after him he first asks him to join and then proceeds to make him his present to the WG.
Pretty sure BB didn't even have specifc targets in ID. He told the level 6 prisoners that he would release the last one alive in each cell and let them join his crew. It was also 4 not 3 members.
Ahh, I see I see. I totally agree with you though, I like the current effortless curb-stomping (somewhat literally by Luffy, haha) that happened this chapter.
I disagree with you purely because he was a member of the WB pirates before these events. Sure he aligned himself with power probably with the intent of finding his own power, but being in that crew and learning its ways probably helped him figure out that killing the doode that originally had the darkness power in the WB pirates would not only give him said power, but lead Ace (his commander) to go after him, making the encounter between them seem all the more planned out. More of a matter of when rather than if.Originally Posted by Stilzkin
As for the original question by Shuvo: I think he intended to take WB's power all along. I mean, he knew he wanted to take the darkness power for himself for a long time, and it seems like that power is what helped him to take WB's quake powers. ALBEIT, that's not proven at all. For all we know, he could have some weird ability granted to him from some other source that lets him steal DF powers from the dead people who once had them. Who knows really, I doubt even Oda has that much planned out at this point, haha.
I guess essentially what I'm saying is that we just need to keep reading to find out ._.;
He was trying to grab the first high bounty pirate he could find though. He could have caught Luffy in Jaya or some other pirate long before Ace was anywhere near him.
Had that happened things would have gone entirely different. There is really nothing that suggests that he had all that planned. If you notice BB's "planning" is highly dependent on fate, which he is always going on about. He waited over 20 years for the chance at a specific fruit, he ran into ID with no plan on how to deal with Magellan and the level 6 prisoners coould have decided to all turn on him, the WG could have chosen some other pirate as shichibukai. His plan to become shichibukai was also extremly recent as the spot was only open after Crocodile's defeat.
Whats more certain about the whole thing is that he would have probably made a move at WB's fruit at some point.
I'm not sure how early Blackbeard's planned this, but it's not a fluke that he started the war, raided Impel Down when the attention was focused on Marineford, and stole Whitebeard's power. His timing was too impecable to think otherwise.
I pretty much agree with Stilz. Blackbeard, who knew that the world government would allow him to become a warlord if he handed Ace over to them, I'm sure was fully aware that WB would try to rescue him from his execution. I could see him anticipating that WB would lose (maybe the Impel Down prisoners were partly insurance for that?) and he probably would have gone after WB eventually anyway. Despite his absolutely retarded appearance, I think Blackbeard is a really smart villian.
Random thought: What happens when a devil's fruit user dies? Does the fruit appear again somewhere? I don't see how else there'd be a book that contained information about all/most of the devil's fruits. Both Blackbeard and Sanji had a book about them, so it's probably not some secret treasured document.
Blackbeard is simply good with plot device. He knew, just like us, that Whitebeard had no chance of surviving that arc.
Same, it's one of the biggest mysteries for me in One Piece. I'm assuming fruits have something to do with the the stuff that happened 700 years ago, because there is no explanation otherwise.Random thought: What happens when a devil's fruit user dies? They never said what happens with fruits yet. But it has been confirmed that they reappear somehow, or else there wouldn't be books and encyclopedias about which fruit has which power.
jump is cancelled for next week
Bastards
In the midst of this disaster shonen manga aimed for 7-18 year olds is the best thing to help the country out.
It's being done to conserve power. They're expecting blackouts in tokyo today as people switch on their heaters all at once.
Seems like it'll be just one week, the release schedules for next two are april 6 (instead of the 4 like normal) and 11.
IIRC, I read books or encyclopedias saying if DF users died, that type of fruit will re grow on the DF tree.
I am pretty certain of this, but I don't think it makes too much impact nor appear in the storyline yet.
Got to back that up bro never heard anything about a devil fruit tree lol
It was never said how they reappear. Tree? Who knows. All we know that it is possible somehow for fruits to reappear again, but only after the user dies. WB and Ace dying (the first two DF users to die on screen) didn't show anything interesting immediately when they died, so it might be a slow process or more complicated.
Yeah... fruit grows on trees, that sounds very bs and totally doesn't make sense huh?
Not saying it's not true, it just hasn't been confirmed yet.
What would make no sense is there to be a 'Devil's fruit tree" because otherwise the first person to find it would get all the DF's lol.
I am not trying to convince people to believe because I am not 100% certain as well.
I was responding to Haiko about his doubt on fruits grow on trees theory.
Each person could only consume 1 fruit (BB is exception).
Maybe each tree can only grow 1 fruit.
Who knows, everything could be possible.
Growing on tree just seems more possible than " a DF poped on the ground" " a DF poped in a chest"
It is possible but I'm asking where your source because I want to know as well lol
