The spring guy was one of those really short fights that was SUPER drawn out in the anime, but when he finally wrecked him it was amazing...

Hard to say, but I wouldn't be surprised if the name he calls it (fire fist rifle) also sounds like or is close to "red hawk" (or hook, or whatever).

Correct name is Red Hawk.

Its a pun by Oda as fire fist rifle sounds/looks (not sure which) like Red Hawk.

Red Hawk being a magnum handgun that is said to be useable on bears.

All of Luffy's new moves have been animal related weapons; Snake shot (also known as rat shot) is type of bullet used by farmers on small animals, elephant gun is obvious.

Probably has to do with Luffy having been on an island where he had to fight animals night and day.

Its pretty creative on Oda's part.

No OP next week, according to what I heard SJ is forcing Oda and Kishimoto to take a break next week. Veteran manga is sometimes forced to take breaks in place of more new manga that week, that might be the cause I have no idea.

Apparently, not only does Luffy use an Gigant Elephant Pistol to hit Hody into the ship in the first place, but than proceeds to destroy it with a Gigant Elephant Gatling of all things. I don't think he's ever done anything but a basic punch or kick with Gear 3, let alone a move that rapid fires punches at a stupid high speed

Awesome chapter and cover story. Chopper at the end was badass, but I think we all saw that coming. Glad the main fight is over, hopefully the arc will end soon.

Nice chapter but would've liked a more detailed destruction of the boat, hopefully they'll wrap it up in the next two chapters, more new world less fish bullshit.

P.S. The WB thing was a nice touch however.

The last few episodes were pretty good. Watching the crew beat up the Kumabots were cool. But I know it'll get boring soon so I'm enjoying it as is now.
