Jinbe's duty regards Big Mom, he reports it to King Nep and Luffy. Per instruction by some soldiers, Luffy removes a bomb in the Tamatebako. (When the criminals were arrested, this bomb was set in.) He returns it safely to Neptune, who requests that Luffy settle with(?) Big Mom's subordinates. Nami replies angrily that she already did all that. Nep worries that the bomb was set there as a challenge to Luffy.

Caribou glees over the mountain of treasure and the mermaid princess' secret, gloating aloud to himself as he escapes... but is caught and beaten by Big Mom's two subordinates.

Pekoms has the turtle DF, beats Caribou in one hit with Haki.

On to Marine Base G5,
Some random pirates who fled FI are captured by Captain Tashigi and V.A. Smoker. Smoker hears who defeated Hody's gang, but the pirates refuse to tell him until he forces it out from them. "I already knew, idiots."

Note from a later post: Smoker convinced the pirates to talk by offering to let them go.

I loved this chapter. The way they are setting up the arc against Big Mom is hilarious, and the crew's reactions make it even better (especially Luffy who is as clueless as ever). I'm also happy that we get to see old face we havent seen in....8 years?

It won't be easy but I'm pretty sure we're setting up for Luffy to reach the level of a Yonkou by the end of the next arc. He has to, since his new nemesis in Teach is one.

Common sense makes me think Luffy won't be a Yonkou so soon. However, he's already world famous as shit because of the War of the Best and has the lineage (which is also known) to be crazy famous. So right now he's nearly at Yonkou status when it comes to name recognition, so I can't count it out.

Common sense say that he won't beat a shikibukai right after getting into Grand Line. They are way above his level!

Common sense says he won't break out of impel down, only 1 person in the One Pieceverse has ever escaped from there.

Edit: It also occurred to me, Jinbe has his own crew already in the Sun Pirates. If Jinbe does join Luffy, would his crew join too?
