Anyone else think he's connected to Vegapunk?

Do you really need to spoiler a speculation that is not even necessarily hinted by this chapter?

I'll spoiler my response in case there is a reason for spoilering this:

Law seems to be after some piece of knowledge hidden in the lab, something that can't be obtained by simply shaking down CC. This was Vegapunk's lab so I'm guessing its something he was up to. If he is looking for something Vegapunk was doing then he can't be working for Vegapunk.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that Law is after something from the lost century and already has a bit of knowledge on that topic. He will probably find what ever it is he is looking for and pass it on to Luffy later on in the series.

Franky goes with him and recieves some rumble balls from chopper
Franky takes the rumble balls and goes berserk

CC wants Vegapunk's laser
Apparently he is attempting another gas explosion

the cool brothers are introduced though not full shown, they are naked

Luffy and Franky are off exploring
Luffy is having problems with Franky losing control and going berserk
The cool brothers show up, small fight ensues
Luffy ends up using elephant gun on Franky to stop him

Law shows up and uses a new technique, counter shock to split Scotch in two

Sadly this is most likely the truth, but if Law were to become the first pirate captain in Luffy's armada I wouldn't be able to find words to describe that awesomeness.

The obvious answer is Big Mom.

We know Kidd is attacking Big Mom's ships and Luffy is about to be targetted by her too. The name of this saga is The Sea of Survival: Super Rookie Saga, it can be seen written on Oda's desk, so some of the supernova teaming up is highly likely.

I agree with the above, the arc suddenly got awesome. He might team up with people. I don't see why not. It's an alliance. Not like he is serving under anyone. Plus Luffy does feel indebted to him and sees him as a peer.

Turn down his offer of a team up? Are we forgetting that Luffy has already fought alongside three other shichibukai? It's not like Law is offering to become a crew member or offering Luffy a position on his crew.

Well i just don't see Luffy and Law fighting together against Big Mum. Heck idk maybe he did learned his lesson on trying to do everything by himself on The War of the Best and will accept Law offer which would indeed be awesome.

I'd bet he does and will figure out a way to fight Law should the need arise while they're friends. Law's power seems to be one you need some time to ponder how to fight against.

Luffy has never been the one to think things through that much. Law saved his life and just saved one of his crew, fairly sure he will help Law out on the island just for that alone.
