Either way the new samurai guy is pretty baller. I just hate it when Luffy is out of comission.

Wonder if he'll join the crew. Luffy already asked him once when he first met him, and everyone so far has been willing to. He does seem to have a strange ability to spot strong people.

Iunno, maybe he has some other skills too, like camouflage or infiltration.

The relative situations aren't even similar. Nami was still technically a member of the Arlong pirates, and whose home town and sister were being held hostage, nobody begrudged the decision she made. Kinemon just wants to rescue his son and go home.

The guy just wants to save his kid. I really doubt, as much of a kids manga One Piece is, that they'll have a father-son duo join them, especially if the kid is young.

Nami's case was totally different. She was trying to save her entire island, not just her sister, from Arlong. And when Luffy beat Arlong down, she accomplished her secondary goal. Her primary goal now is to make a map of the entire globe, which works considering, like you (Uzor) said, she's the navigator.

Pretty much every straw hat has a goal which is why they follow Luffy, more reason Jimbei would likely join next as well (I hope).

If you go back and rewatch/reread the early one piece episodes he lists off a bunch of people that he wants, and the number of people he wants in his crew.

I can't remember exactly where it is anymore, but I remember something that distinctly foreshadowed someone like Jinbei joining the crew lol.

You're definitely right about that. I forget the chapter as well, but he says he want a crew of 10 or so. And if you include Luffy as well, Jinbei would make crew mate #10. Or you could read it as after Jinbei, there should be 1 more crew member joining.

Unless my memory is making things up he said something that would be specific to Jinbei. Like "a really good swimmer" or it might have even been as specific as "a fish person". Wish I could remember what episode or chapter it was in.

Ahahahah. Usopp is the second Luffy. Multi-tasking while tired is rarely a good idea it seems. I was trying to remember them in the order they joined the crew which is why I forgot Robin since she was kind of a transient member and officially joined the same time Franky did.

But yeah, I'm going to go crazy until I can remember exactly where he says something along the lines of "We need a chef, a navigator, a musician, a doctor, a blahblah, maybe fish person" or something similar to that.

I can't believe they wasted 90% of this weeks episode on telling Shirahoshi she isn't a coward and about the plan of attack. Zoro and Sanji better make it worth it next week.
