Just restarted watching One Piece and man, I forgot how epic this show was. Last I saw, the Great War just happened and they all agreed to meet up in 2 years. Started back from the start of the War. On 516 now. I marathon watched it. I wanted to stop but fuck "One more, one more, one more"

Been thinking of going back to Episode 1 though. So many epic moments in this show that I want to relive.

I've probably rewatched from the beginning twice now at least. If you have a shitload of free time it's not a terrible way to spend it.

I don't have a lot of free time but I do have a decent amount. Anytime I think of rewatching it from Ep1 my mind jumps to the fox version and makes me feel ill. The fox version was my first time watching One Piece and even then I knew it was shit and moved to the JP version.

How strong will Kaidou be? It's clear that he's being set up as either the weakest or second weakest yonkou but Doflamingo clearly fears him.

Well, Law travels on a submarine so his crew (hopefully) will meet him once they leave this island.

We'll probably find out what happened to his crew when he gets some screen time with Luffy + Co. Which I'm assuming is next week, unless it gets all expositiony. We still have to find out who was sailing randomly towards Punk Hazard.

The very first page of the chapter has him listed as the strongest thing alive, lol

My translation of that chapter said he was the strongest "beast" alive. So as in hes not a human hes an animal.

I know the text says that, but how could he be stronger than Shanks or Blackbeard?

It doesn't say he's stronger than Shanks or Whitebeard, only that he's the strongest creature alive. Clearly something held him back from taking 'the throne,' most likely the fact that if he could take on Shanks or Big Mom (or Whitebeard), but not all Yonkou simultaneously.

I'm just thinking of the structure of shounen manga, and especially this series where each confrontation devolves into one-on-one combat between Luffy and the big baddy. If we're headed toward a situation where Kaidou is the first of the four yonkou to fight Luffy then I think that would be an indication of where Oda feels he stands in the hierarchy of villains.

I read it as he's the strongest zoan user in the world, but I may be wrong.
