Bleach/Naruto characters would be fun. But DBZ characters I would imagine are just waaayyyyyyy too overpowered for it to be interesting at all.

Jacket devil's fruit confirmed for dumbest DF power yet.
Still, Luffy's punching things and that can only be for the best.
There have been even dumber fruits, like Alvida's 'smooth' fruit but at least she made a decent sidekick to Buggy. Even Kuma's 'paw' fruit is kinda stupid without his absurd physical strength to create space/time warps as a result. This jacket fruit is just...I don't even know. At least he's eating dirt now.
I think one of the best things is when Oda takes "stupid fruits" and turns them into something awesome. Maybe the idea of Kuma's paw fruit is dumb but in execution it is actually awesome. I don't believe the basic abilities (reflecting attacks/air) have anything to do with his strength and they are still pretty cool also he isn't bending space/time he just sends people flying.
Depending how much control that guy has when he is in jacket mode that could be a pretty powerful ability if he were able to take over the right body. If he were to take control of someone really strong he could be quite powerful.
I do agree that all this fodder is feeling too much like filler though with all the other stuff going on. The unusually high amount of breaks Oda's had recently hasn't help that either.
I think it's pretty much just the breaks. If it wasn't for them we'd have already been into the LuffyxGranpaguywhoheadbutts fight and thus satisfied.I do agree that all this fodder is feeling too much like filler though with all the other stuff going on. I'm enjoying it myself. I mean, there's this gigantic coliseum melee happening with hundreds of fighters and let's face it, we all want to see Luffy kick some ass. But if the only snippets of it we got were him punching misc. guy here or there for a panel or two while all the other shit was happening, then we'd be complaining about that and not about how there are too many fodder characters introduced.
Personally though, I loved how the announcer and crowd were like "holy shit, this fighter is amazing, and that fighter is amazing" and without breaking a sweat, the 2 strongest guys, who are clearly the strongest, wiped them all out not by fighting them but just with the shockwave of fighting each other (save for the 2 doodes who got swept out of the way). It adds some flavour for me to be able to have some insight on who these characters are. And while yeah they might have a bit too much panel time in each chapter, at least it isn't like 1 chapter dedicated to each new fodder character
Plus, watching this shit animated is gonna be dope when the anime finally gets there
Awesome chapter and even more awesome location for where the factory is located! This, which is already quite good, is gonna get gewwwwd
I liked this chapter quite a bit. Only problem right now is that there is way too much going on that anything we're not shown I want to see more of, haha.
Oh shit, I dread reading a chapter now, fearful of "no chapter next week" in the last page.
Right on cue![]()
Again? God damn it.
Alright so, I happened across the anime last night on adult swim before bed and holy fuck the worst VA's I've ever heard in my life.
What were they thinking?
I don't read this manga, but was going to pick it up. Should I start with the manga or the JP anime to catch up faster?
Probably manga, I'd imagine the anime has a lot of filler (I haven't watched any of the anime though, way too much to catch up on lol).
Manga is amazing. You're looking at like 650+ chapters so you'll have a ton of material for a long time now.
Japanese anime is MUCH better then NA anime. I know, weaboo blah blah, but in this case it's entirely true. The anime is definitely worth checking out though, but some episodes go at a snails pace and there are a lot of filler episodes/story arcs too. But again, worth looking into especially some of the movies too!
If you want to just catch up to the story at where it is right now, the manga will undoubtedly be faster.
