Why is it when OP is on break, the anime episode for that week is really really awful. Is this like a rule or something?

I want to chalk it up to the animators not wanting to close that gap between where the manga is and where the anime is. Albeit, that might be over-thinking it a little. I'm also gonna guess that we're gonna get some sort of filler coming up here too.

I just hope we get a new intro already =/

There was a new intro a while ago, but if you watch on funimation they don't have the rights to it so they still use the old one or something.

That's the one. It came out half a year ago or so. TBH it's kind of lackluster. Slower songs just aren't my things. To me, One Piece openings 5 and 6 are probably the best examples of anime intros ever.

Chapter sounds fantastic. If these spoilers are accurate, it's gonna be a good one for sure.

Edit: The spoilers I found make it sound more like Franky and his dwarf crew end up with the responsibility of destroying the factory, not quite having done it yet.

Albeit, the one that came right after it was really good too:



Opening 13 just cause the whole Luffy/Ace story was so good. And then 14 because of the Luffy/Ace/Sabo backstory, and then the montage of Luffy's more important moments with his individual crew members, absolutely fantastic little segment of the opening.

I almost skipped the luffy/ace/sabo backstory the first time through the anime because I thought it was filler. I mean think about it, they introduced some random new character, and then he was written off never to appear again.

In fact I think I did skip some episodes. At best I probably white noised them while multitasking.
