The fight's obviously not over with that, there's no way this ends the way the pirate war act ended, with one guy dying and then someone like Shanks showing up and saying 'ARC OVER LOL.'
I guess the combination of Mingos constant demonstrations of 'lol I troll U' and the constant non-endings we've been getting from Bleach/Naruto has made me more than a little suspicious of One Piece lately. I've wanted this arc to end for ages because what's going on with Kaido/Big Mom and the Revolutionary Army is much more interesting to me by now.

The decapitation didn't do anything because Kyros hit a string clone. Hopefully Dof doesn't reveal next chapter that he can make two at once, and make them bleed if he wants to.

I can sort of agree with how long it's gone on but... to me this should be the end. The only things left here are a) Zoro fight b) Franky fight/factory and c) Donflamingo fight. Everything else is essentially resolved. I will only really be pissed if this ends up being NOT THE FIGHT yet a-fucking-gain. Thankfully I think Law knows enough about his DF power and abilities that he can help Luffy fuck him up. Even if you aren't liking this arc, that tag team bit was sweet as hell.

I'm really curious about the Big Mom stuff too. I mean.. can you imagine team Sanji taking down a Yonkou and then it cuts back to Luffy + Co and they have to take down Kaidou all before they even meet up? That'll be so sweet.

I thought he cut the real one then used his powers to make a clone. It just didn't do any damage because it wasn't a haki attack and his DF is too OP to die to something like that.

Dof doesn't have a logia, he wasn't cut because that wasn't him.

Luffy's body protects him from regular attacks due to his DF, Buggy can't be sliced due to his DF. You don't have to be logia to be impervious to some types of damage.

Luffy was also immune to Lightning, a Logia type power, because of his DF :3

Edit: That being said, you read the chapter after Mingo had his head sliced off and it's pretty clear that it was a clone that got decapitated as it kept fighting alongside the real Mingo

Some paramecia change the body of the user. Luffy is immune to blunt damage as he is made of rubber, Alvida has a super smooth body so attacks slide of her, Buggy's fruit allows him to separate body parts so he can't be wounded by cuts. Other paramecia can produce some substance such as Magellen and his poison or Mr.3 and his wax. What you don't get is a paramecia with a special body and the ability to produce a substance. Those that can are logia. Dof can produce a massive amount of strings so we know his body is not made of strings, unless you believe him to be a logia.

I don't know what he is because all we know about his powers are STRINGS OUT THE ASS. It has been shown countless times that he can produce invisible strings. When his head was lobbed off, it might have been possible he missed a bit and it was still connected kill la kill style by one strand. And with his level of skill with the DF, if it is a paramecia that might be all he needed to stay alive.

It doesn't explicitly say that anywhere. Only afterwards when the second one appears. The decapitation up until then is 3 chapters later or so. It never says he survived because it was a clone or anything like that.

In chapter 745, the Doflamingo that has its head cut off (and still has its head missing) is specifically referred to a clone by Kyros.

I saw that bit and I think it's pretty vague. I took it as the second, full Donflamingo being the clone. Not something like "Oh good thing I survived my head being lobbed off since that was a clone".

My mistake, but I was under the impression that DoFlamingo is a fruit user, and that his DF has something to do with strings.

So his body is actually made of strings, can't be entirely cut, etc etc

Different DFs work in different ways logia types are what you are thinking of. I don't believe Doflamingo's fruit is a logia. Also should note that the beheaded clone becomes the "birdcage" and the 2nd Doflamingo with his head still attached uses haki. So I assume that's the real one.

As much as I don't want a flash back I hope there's more to Doflamingo's story than what they've just shown. It seems like he's saying his life was awful because he couldn't have slaves and shoot people which is pretty lulz

Maybe it will make fun of usual flashbacks by trying to make us feel sorry for the bad guy, but everything he did was terrible and has the opposite effect!
