Was that the breaking of a sword upon a rubber body without haki? Either his anger made him stronger, he got a sayian powerup after the nap, or that sword was secretly made of plywood.

Her sword is blunt.

Not sure how his head being harder than steel would be weird. They have been able to smash through steel for awhile now.

Its less being harder than steel because that means he's super strong and more of "he's a rubber man - i figured the sword would bounce off because rubber". Its the "I can be titanium or I can be rubber whenever, tch," aspect.

Makes me wonder if Oda remembered that...? Kinda seems like it takes away from the tension - not that anyone actually believed that she'd make it there to actually fatally attack.

Just seems strange to have a villain be all "mwahahaha!" with a goddamn pineboard sword. "You're totally gonna kill this chick with your sword that can't actually cut anyone!" At that point, you don't even need the dramatic entrance by Luffy; the sword was never sharp to begin with.

I dunno; it takes away from the tension -for me-.

Considering some of the shit he remembers and ties into the story how many chapters later, Rebecca having a blunt sword probably wasn't forgotten. That being said, I'm sure you can still kill an armorless, defenseless person with a metal sword, regardless of whether it's sharp or not lol

The show is starting to catch up quick due to all these breaks. We're at the Luffy + Law fight vs Donflamingo already.

It's a shame the new opening didn't show gear 4th or anything cool from the manga. :/

They still have to go through all of the individual fights and you know those are gonna be fillered up and dragged out lol. Manga looks to be close to finishing this arc and when the anime finishes too, can most definitely expect one hell of a long filler to follow.

Edit: There's also the Corazon flashback which can and probably will be stretched out for a few episodes too

Well, during gear fourth maybe. He can hold that for like 20 minutes though. Actual admirals fought for 2 weeks straight and neither of them died or got weaker afterwards.

Luffy's time limit is probably closer to 5 minutes or less. That twenty minutes later thing was actually suppossed to refer to being twenty minutes after the bird cage started shrinking.
