I'd be ok with it either way, but this would be a perfect opportunity to begin expansion of the Straw Hat pirates (single ship) to the Straw Hat fleet, which is how most upper-tier pirates seem to operate.

It's been a while... How many of the pirates other than the "fleet captain" or whatever are really worth anything though?
For example: Ace worked under Whitebeard, but under Ace was there anyone noteworthy?
Luffy's a good man.
Hope he didn't do too much reputation damage for the future, though.
I don't think luffy cares what the general population thinks, only his friends
Luffy is The. Fucking. Man. Best protagonist ever
Chapters out
Spoiler: show
I like Luffy's attitude but was hoping Zoro would fight Fujitora tbh. He still really hasn't been pushed at all post time skip.
Be proud, Ace. You have a fine younger brother. Luffy may not be in any shape to fight this battle, but goddammit, that's something I've wanted a protagonist to say for a long time, in any series, really.
"I'm tired of running."
"I'm tired of putting it off for later."
Win or lose, its time to throw down.
Re-read the mangastream translation of the chapter. Waaaay better and just way more badass. Can't wait for next week
No one to push him to a point that matters. The only other super strong people there are Sengoku who has no intention of fighting and Tsuru who I can't see Zoro fighting anyway.
Luffy for sure will eventually be going against Akainu so I always thought the introduction of a swordsman admiral was basically meant for Zoro. I don't really see this fight going uninterrupted anyway but still a little disappointed.
I can still see Zoro stepping in with the line of "He's a swordsman, this is my duty" blah blah. Luffy is obviously still bandaged up, and Zoro didn't exert himself much, so he could make the claim it is his fight, now that the captain has decided we stay and fight.
I'm thinking he's a better match for Law, but anyway I somehow doubt this fight will even see progression.
Forgot to mention this but for those interested, One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 is out!
Yeah I'm REALLY late to this party. Just finished watching the first arc (East Blue, 1-61) for the first time and this series is so much better than Bleach it's ridiculous.
Shit is only getting started for you. The anime/manga only gets better and better as it progresses
The first arc in the Grand Line is one of the best arcs in the series. Enjoy.
