Bleach has constantly and consistently been in the bottom of the barrel as far as weekly rankings go in Jump for the last few months. Since well before it's last break even. At this point, I think that Jump is just letting Kubo finish this last arc off and just finish Bleach because in it's hay-day it was super popular and made the company tons of money.

Let's be honest here, the manga had been going down hill and terrible since the Save Rukia arc... which was like, one of the first arcs in the series lol.

I'd never recommend Bleach to anyone, but I keep reading it. I have to know how it ends after spending so much time on it. x.x At least One Piece remains fantastic. >.>

A popular one that I saw was that he's actually an abandoned Noble/Celestial Dragon. In fact, the theory has been kicking around since before the timeskip and only just got somewhat reinforced

Edit2: It's a really interesting thought that his wanted poster and all images of him in the One Piece media world have yet to show his face accurately until this new wanted poster. And while we know Sanji was raised in East Blue, we know he was born in North Blue and have no idea what his past entails before he and whatshisfaceheadchef got stranded on that island.

And Oda being Oda, I wouldn't be surprised at all if all the hints were in the story all along and Sanji's past comes into play in typical 'connect the dots' sort of fashion.

Bleach makes lots of money from volume sales and such; the jump rankings are only relevant to new series or series that have bad sales as well. Bleach probably ranks so badly because while a lot of consumers think it's decent enough to buy, few people list it as their favorite, which is the only thing they send in for the rankings.

As a hypothetical to illustrate this, let's say there are three mangas; One Piece, Bleach, and Naruto. If 55 people liked One Piece > Bleach > Naruto, 40 people liked Naruto > Bleach > One Piece, and 5 people liked Bleach > One Piece > Naruto, Bleach would be in dead last in Jump rankings with only 5% of the votes, despite viewers' opinions on Bleach not being much different on average than the other two. Now, I'm not saying that people like Bleach as much as One Piece or Naruto on average, but it'd probably be mid-tier in the rankings if it collected everyones' full rankings instead of just their favorite.

Even before Aizen was defeated, Kubo was talking about how this arc was going to be the last one (he mentioned planning a short arc, and then a long arc after the Arrancar arc ended; the former was the Fullbringers, and the latter is this one). It's unlikely that Kubo is being pressured to end the manga earlier than he wanted.

Yeah I think I kinda figured that part out. The amount of level-up action in Fishman Island alone is making me want to wait now.

Pretty sure Oda has a set schedule with 1 break out of 4 weeks. I guess being the best will net you some perks.

Yeah it's been like that for a while now. He had some health issues like a year ago and since then Jump has been doing their best not to overwork him to death.

At this point we just bring it up every time as a running gag on the forum more than anything else lol
