It's not "spoiler", it's the whole chapter in japanese lol.
Doesnt look like a good one sadly. Too many characters I don't care about, and not much happen.
399 out. I think it's the same group from the previous page.

Spoiler: show
The first page was the most interesting part for me. Why is Vivi wearing pirate clothes and appears to be on something that look like a pirate ship. It might be her castle, but it sure doesnt look like it with the small window and stuff.
I guess it was entertaining to see Luffy's team overwhelm the marines again. It's usually the otherway around..and seeing ennemy's confusion is always hilarious. That said, they need to get out of this place. I want to see what happen next.
Luffy's "crap, that's huge" seem to imply they will fight one of the two beast next chapter. Hopefully, it will be a one panel kind of thing. I will be sad if they spend the whole chapter on it.
Wasn't Magellan suposed to shit 18h a day or something? That's probably where he is right now according to the timeline, unless he left with Aces (doubt so).
Oh I thought the huge was in regards to the huge face hormones Iva gave himself. lol And he was just outside the shitter, dealing with Ace... so idk. If he's back in then it'll be hysterical. lol
Yeah. Also I thought about the Supernova art and why Oda keeps making a big deal about it.
Basically, it looks like the Shichikubai are the "bosses" of the GL, while the Nova are going to be the "bosses" of the New World. I mean, right before they go to the NW we find out about the last 3 in such a short time (Moria, Boa, Jinbei), as opposed to when they first got to the GL, where they just knew of croc for a long time. Plus they also explained Kuma alot more, as well as the flamingo fag recently. I think the big incident to come is going to be the end of WB, while Luffy getting a big name for himself in the New World.
It's probably the biggest issue I've with One Piece's story. How come nobody knew about them before...the more they explore the world, the more you realize everyone should know about Grand line, the new world, shikibukai, devil fruit and the like.
I don't mind them bringing new "bosses", but it's still weird we didnt know about them before.
Luffy admits on a regular basis that he doesn't read the newspapers, and that Shakky called him out on it too. Remember she was all like "well you should, theyve been in it recently.. etc etc". Plus also the premise of the show is "theres lots of pirates everywhere" so why are powerful pirates suddenly appearing any sort of surprise.
If it was only Luffy, it wouldn't be a problem. However, it's not the impression I get when I read it. It feels more like they are introduced whenever it's convenient for the author.
You would think that long time ago, when they introduced the shikibukai, they would have mentioned the "stronger" pirate if it was common knowledge. I'm sure we could stretch an explanation for everything if we go case by case (ie: government manipulating information, character being out of the loop..etc), it just feel slightly forced.
[edit]
I'm not saying it's an horrible thing either. Introducing bigger and badder characters is the norm in shonen..I'm just saying in the context, some of the "new thing" should have been common knowledge for the reader long time ago.
Well just think of how the world works. There are 2 (kinda 3) kinds of people. There are those who live in one place and there are the pirates (and marines). Only the pirates/marines move around much at all and they all move in one direction, pre-GL -> GL -> NW. They travel that one way except for the cases of losing pirates running away and for those they only have stories of who made them run away, not who is months down the GL.
There probably aren't too many people traveling around that aren't pirates because they'd need marine escort to survive since you know...there are pirates. So all information about only spreads a short distance from where it happens as the marines essentially control most of the information.
This isn't a world with the internet and the only long distance communication is pretty much in the hands of the marines. I don't know the limitation on the den-den mushi but it seems to be mostly marine controlled like most other things. So not getting all the information right off the bat is no surprise to me and I don't think it hurts the story at all.
as far as what Kaylia is saying, as Ive said before, way to many things conveniently happen and the author isnt too subtle about it. It doesnt make it a bad story, it just makes it a simple one that you dont have to think about too much when reading , and can just enjoy it for what it is.
I understand, but it's not like Luffy is hanging with clueless people all the time. He met many big figure, and none ever mention "little" detail like these.
And while marine do control informations, it's hard to think most normal marines never talk to their family or anything. Communication on a large scale in OP universe don't seem that bad.
