Pretty good chapter. I liked the "recap" at the beginning, it was nice to see every importants face gathered in the same 2-3 panels.

Also, it made me realize that it might be the end for the Marines (not the world government). With Boa and Kuma not fighting for them, Aojiki being unclear (he will fight, but he never looked like a bad guy), Luffy's grandfather, the Marines are going to get crushed. Once they are done, the world will probably change back to a real pirate era. Well, I guess that's why the whole thing looked like Gold D. roger execution. You know they will repeat the same sorry (aside the part were the execution is succesful)

Thoughts on latest chapter:

As much as it is an epic out of the motherfucking blue moment, I kind of have mixed feelings towards the chapter. I mean, it was steered so clearly that Luffy and Ace were blood-related. Also the fact that Narcolepsy runs through the family by males (Luffy, Ace, Garp). I wonder if all of this weird shit will be explained more in the upcoming chapters. Maybe Dragon is the brother of Roger? Making Garp his father? Who the fuck knows now. I can't wait for the next chapter to shed at least some light on the blackness that enveloped the story now.

edit: Also, people are thinking that it might be a cover story to hide his real father, Dragon... However, I don't think cover stories have their own panels.

Yeah, but we know that Luffy's Dad is Monkey D. Dragon, assuming that we don't get an epic loljk moment on who his real dad is. I like that thought that Roger and Dragon are brothers, makes more sense than anything else right now. Also, other than the whoa shit reveal of Ace being Roger's son the chapter was kind of meh, but a good set up for the shit that's about to go down. I guess I've gotten spoiled on the epicness of the Impel Down stuff.

If Luffy and Ace's fathers are dragon and Roger respectively, how would they even be blood brothers then? It was just said Aces mom died in child birth. Theyre probably just adopted brothers or something.

It's based on the theory that Dragon and Roger could be brothers, that way Luffy and Ace are still related if not brothers in the true sense of the word. It could also explain why Dragon is trying to take down the world government, being pissed at them for killing his brother. It's all theorycraft at this point, but it makes a small amount of sense.

Going by the age of things wouldn't it make more sense for Roger to be Garp's brother? Rayleigh is a fairly old dude, like Garp and was Roger's #2. It's make more sense for Roger/Garp to be brothers, Garp to be Dragon's father and thus Roger is his uncle. Making Luffy and Ace 2nd cousins who grew up together, thus calling each other brother.

I think that's my current theory on things. I was running with no blood relation at all, but Roger's "Take care of him for me!" line makes me think there was something more there. It'd make little sense to tell a rival to take care of your child.

All we really know is who Luffy's mother ISN'T at this point. If there is a Roger/Dragon connection, there's no good hints to it anywhere in the manga. Eaglestrike's theory makes the most sense but Oda's got a lot of 'splaining to do if Garp became a high level Marine commander with his brother as Pirate King. Dragon's real age is suddenly a big mystery since it seems he's of the same generation as the Admirals (i.e. generation after Gol D. Roger's age), putting a real squeeze on a timeline where both Ace and Luffy could have known each other as children, let alone do any growing up together. Of course, if Dragon only looks to be 30 years younger than Roger would have been had he survived, then sure, siblings 4 lyfe.

They can have the same mother, but different father's. Roger being Ace's dad and Dragon being Luffy's.
