So what exactly are Doflamingo's powers? I thought he controlled peoples' bodies?

Don't think the character development was supposed to be Oars jr.'s, it was Ace's. Supposed to show us how Ace is Luffy like and makes friends with everyone and now they are "dying" to save him. These last few chapters have been slow and seem like they are just showing each group's power, hopefully it'll go faster now that every group has been shown unless next chapter is about the vice admirals' abilities.

Seems like Doflamingo has a string fruit, he can puppeteer people and cut Oars leg off cleanly. Has anyone in OP been shown to jump as high as he did?

I imagine both sides will have massive casualties. Can't wait to see the aftermath when its revealed that blackbeard single handedly caused the destruction of almost all his competition to becoming the pirate king (by triggering the war). Not to mention he has some other secret plan in Impel Down + got a shichibukai level swordsmen on his crew now. Bet his bounty will get up to 500mil+ while Luffy's will be similiar due to breaking into Impel Down. Also will be funny seeing Buggy's bounty going up to something like 300million and seeing his reaction.

Blackbeard will be Luffy's final nemesis. They are perfectly matched up too.

Zoro vs Shiryuu (swordsmen)
Chopper vs Doc Q (doctors)
Lafitte vs Sanji (both use their feet? Oo)

I really really want Usopp to not suck sometime soon. I mean, Oda's shown him to have incredible natural talent, but he's developing him SO slowly.

With the amount of QQing in here really does remind me of bleach. Thing is the only problem with the war in bleach is it has lasted OVER A YEAR and only now is getting anywhere. To put things into perspective this has only lasted 5 chapters and will probably have Luffy involved in the very near future. Also this one was definitely better then the last 2.

The only thing to gripe about the last 3-4 chapters is that they have not included a single Straw Hat crewsman or Luffy, and it's plain that we're only going to see Luffy after the conclusion of this particular fight.

I guess it is a little less exciting to watch folks fight when Luffy isn't anywhere nearby, but really the Shichibukai's involvement has just begun and that's when it gets seriously fun. I didn't feel crap for Oars Jr. either but the entire fight is now knives out with all the major players fighting. It's not about cleverly solving the puzzle of folks' power anymore shit is just going to get tore up. I really want to see Whitebeard fight someone head to head.

The only thing I didn't like is how they added Oars Jr. out of nowhere to the fight...and how they started "killing" people in this chapter...none the less it's still exciting chapter.

Remember we've had backstorys of non SH chars be 4 chapters before. So I'm not too worried at this point, especially since finding out everyones power was pretty cool. While it is kind of boring with nobody of importance there, I would like a mini time skip where Luffy just shows up like 10 minutes later. I mean really, how long is this fight fucking taking. They're like 100 feet away.

Makes me wonder, are people actually dying now? Having their feet chopped off, then being impaled as well as being crushed while petrified certainly does seem to be rather lethal. Would also make me wonder if Bon Clay's implied death set the tone by being the first of its kind, meaning that he really did die.
That being said, I don't mind it, we've got actual tragedy now, the whole "greatest war in history" thing would not feel the same way if we didn't see people die left and right.
It's a nice change of pace, albeit a sad one (those flashbacks of Oars Jr. and Ace certainly had quite an impact on me).

Not the first time marine and bystander die..or at least, are stuck in a situation where it's unlikely they are alive.

Oars...idk...he probably isnt dead for w/e reason. They are going to bring medic-medic fruit in next chapter and patch him up.

I was the one who made the whole Bleach comparison, and while I still think there is a lot of truth to it, at least Oda is moving things along quickly unlike Kubo. If this had really turned into Bleach we would have had 8 chapters of flashback showing Oars and Ace. Things haven't gotten so bad in OP that I'm starting to wonder about the sanity of the author. Luffy and Jimbei and co. will show up in the next couple of chapters and things will get awesome again.

Comparing OP to Bleach is fucking retarded. If OP was like Bleach last chapter would have had 4 full page spreads on Oars Jr. each page would zoom in on the straw hat a little bit more. There would not be any dialogue, just pictures of a giant in a straw fucking hat.

There is still plenty going on in these OP chapters. You may not care, but it's still things happening. Bleach shit doesn't happen AND you don't care, they're quite different.
