Who knows. Oda was probably like "sure I can use another break" or maybe it's random. OP is their best series afaik.

I don't think they are shitting on OP or Oda, it's most likely a marketting decision (assuming OP was ready). He probably have a certain amount of manga per year in his contract, and this one was planned ahead.

Not necessarily doing much more in depth than the manga did. They did about 1/2 a chapter showing where all the others landed. If you're not worried about spoilers click here: One Piece 523 page 14 | One Manga On the other hand the later title pages have been showing slowly what is happening to certain members of the crew so they could base some filler off that if Oda isn't wanting to go into depth. I'm sure though at some point Oda will either do flashbacks or in depth looks at how the strawhats have trained or learned.

Nami arrived in a sky island where they study weather and seem to be able to control it. Franky arrives in the land of future full of technology and cyborgs. Sanji is in transvestite land. Usopp in a place similar to Little Garden and meets a seemingly self made adventurer/tough guy. Brook lands in the middle of a demon summoning to aid in a dispute of poor clans (finally gets some girl's panties!) Robin ends up in a slave camp building a bridge. Chopper arrives in a place ruled by giant birds. Finally Zoro gets stuck as a slave for Perona it seems. I'm not sure what good being where they are is but I'm sure some how it'll convert into training some how (some more obvious than others like Nami and Franky.)

I'm hoping this will be more in-depth than the manga and Oda will be helping out with it. Then he can continue to only show them on covers and maybe small flashbacks without having to dedicate more time from the main storyline progressing. So I can get my story and then more story too We'll see though.

Holy shit this chapter had me laughing non stop. Everyones reactions and then the convo at the end was freaking great. I loved it, almost worth the wait and these chapters are now going to be very interesting. Although I heard there was no chapter next week maybe? Arg.
