    WB has been talking about his time coming to an end from since we first saw him. There's no point in saving him if he's going to die of old age. A guy like WB shouldn't die quietly he has to die in a way to rival Gol D. Roger.

    They're killing off the old generation and giving rise to Luffy being as big as the 4 emperors. He's getting a LOT of cred with this arc right here as you can see in this chapter. Now if we can get him a power boost to go with the cred boost, but that basically just means he has to learn how to Haki, so we know how he's going to get the power to rival the 4 emperors

    Question, I love this show but I hated going episode by episode on the larger story arcs. I last watched a filler arc, the one that brought back the foxy pirate crew and was about 2 girls who's dad left them info for making a rainbow or something. Between now and then I assume a major arc has started, has it finished and if not how far through do you estimate it to be?

    384-405 is the next arc
    406+407 are two feudal era filler
    After that I would watch everything up to current minus episodes 426-429 which were fillers linking to the movie that came out last month.
    418-421 are episodes based on the 1 page story covers from the manga. You will still want to watch those. You could watch these any time after watching episode 405.

    Ah. Foxy came back for two more episodes in the 380s which is what Mini is talking about. It definitely needed more Afro-Luffy.

    It's not that it wasn't foreshadowed, it's the opposite that bother me here. No one dies in One Piece [present]. Why Whitebeard, who was still healthy until very recently, knew he was going to die? He wasn't simply "ready to die fighting", he went there to die.

    Using his death to motivate people like Gol D Roger...fine, but the whole thing still seem somewhat artificial.


    Anyway, it's not like his death (if it happens) is bad or anything.

    What? He was hooked up to tubes ever since we first saw him. His health has been diminishing for a long time now. He has never been "healthy" in the present of One Piece, ever.

    Cool, thanks for the info guys. I might get a little more caught up soon. It's strange how long I've actually been watching this show for. I think it's the longest running anime I've kept up with. One of my top 5 for sure.

    Chapter 573: We will name this era, "Whitebeard"
    The pirates are running for the ship. Meanwhile, a hearthwarming interaction between Whitebeard and Ace is shown.
    Jozu is unconcious and other pirates are trying to carry him, but he won't move.
    Akainu taunts WB and Ace.
    Ace tells Akainu something in line of you crossed the line, and Akainu attacks the weakened Luffy. Ace protects him.
    Akainu says even among Logia, there's are ranks of strength, and his fist penetrates through Ace.
    Ace's vivre card is almost burned out. End.
