Hurray for macro master
Hurray for macro master
As optimistic as I am for the update, all of this is useless to me. I play melee jobs, even if I were in alliances often, who the fuck cares about the color, and I always play the same character on the same comp.
Where the fuck are my job adjustments?
Unless they change the current 6 lines, to oh say...30+ nobody who uses windower macros will touch them, and people not using windower macros will still be at a disadvantage.Originally Posted by Darkyrm

It said "Battle System Improvements", not "Job Adjustments", people >.> Nce tidbits for a day that normally does not get an teaser.
I like them all and am personally overjoyed at the sharing of macros via Playonline. I can finally play the game on my XBox360 now![]()
Listening to battle music while on my BLM will be lots of fun for the amount of time Campaign music was fun, then it will piss me off and I will mute FFXI
When people think battle system, they think battle mechanics. I'm sure more than a few people expected a def adjustment or something like that, but we got this superfluous aesthetic crap. Not that I don't appreciate that some people might enjoy these changes, but it doesn't change how the game is played, and with a title like that, that's what everyone expected.Originally Posted by Toth
Also, my demand for job adjustments has nothing to do with the content of this update.
Where. The Fuck. Are They?
I think they key word is "improvements." They've never called changes in calculations/jobs/etc "improvements," that would be "adjustments" because they usually don't like to imply that it should have been that way all along. These, however, are small additions that they think should have been there from the start.
There's content in wings of the goddess? ahahaha nice one.Originally Posted by LD
Well said, Mioko. If anything, these improvements would save a lot of people in lower parties that accidentally pull a mob that another is about to pull. People that do not engage would also be aware that a battle is actually happening.
Making it even easier for mages to afk.Originally Posted by Toth
if our macro store on the server, will they able to tell who's using windower macro?
Do all you people seriously play with the music on?
Between vent, TV, and other shit, I don't give two shits about what music may or may not be playing in FFXI on perma-loop for the 9000millionth time.
I think last time I turned on the music was when we did Alexander BC on the night it was released and it was all epic.
I can't believe how many people actually listen to the in game music, sure it's great the first time you're in a zone, but when you've been there for hours on end it gets rather irritating, I haven't played with the music on for a long time so that part doesn't affect me.
The ally name colour change will indeed be nice as that can be confusing at times.
I think the macro backup feature will be optional and since I only use one PC (and if I do backup my macros I backup my whole user folder) it doesn't affect me either.
So the only shit they'll 'improve' are things most people don't care about? Awesome. Also, I call bullshit on that point Toth; from the wording, it seems the puller would have to be engaged and at least somewhere near the other party members, neither of which is always the case.
And wafik, I mean the content of this news bit, you baawing simp. When are you people gunna get off your mounted TOA-dildo and quit bleeding all over the place when you're off it? Oh, you wanna say it was only a joke? This news bit isn't JUST for WotG.
It's really not that hard to establish keyboard bound macro palettes and never have to use Windower's /console command. I know I did it in part because less of what's literally accessible by FFXI, the less conspicuous potential investigation would be. Only downside to my little system is it'll sometimes POL error in congested areas when disabling a palette and putting myself back into "selection" mode.

I was about to switch to Windower macros seeing as my Sorcerers "Piano" macroing could use that, but just of curiosity since all equipment can be changed in about 13 lines why are WS macros that long? (I only have mage jobs) something like [WS gear] (ws) wait [tp gear]?Originally Posted by SathFenrir
Think of it this way:
An improvement is an addition, fluff or not, that often has no effect on previously defined mechanics.
An adjustment changes the mechanics for the better, and sometimes, for the worst.
You hit 1 macro, it echo > change to WS gear > WS > Change back > echo TPOriginally Posted by Darkyrm
Edit: 10$ on Toth living in a fucking rainbow wallpapered room with smiley faces everywhere, there's looking on the brightside of things then there's just being retardedly optimistic about the bag of flaming shit someone just handed you.
seriously thought the first bit was a joke
