Yea, nice counter-argument, and I'm being overly judgemental while sitting on my ass. So, you're calling me black?

Hasn't it already been said you can just bind keys instead of putting it in macros? Assuming it's not optional. Doesn't really effect me, because I can get by with in-game macros and book switching.
Anyway, since I mostly play on Xbox(and on a mage job), there's no reason for me turn off my music. It's not a bad or good thing really. I usually do play with music/sound because of how familiar I've become with it. I'm actually disappointed they seem to care so much about battle music but they don't seem to be too into adding day/night songs for towns or more than one solo battle song(which I'm sure gets played more than party songs for most people). Kind of makes the whole thing pointless.
The text color is very welcomed addition. It's surprising frustrating at times, especially at crowded camps where a ton of monsters are being fought at once, like Despot.
Also, Pierce Bernard is too cool to be LD. Talks about Final Fantasy during Late Night and doesn't afraid of anything.
Frankly, you two are being just as hyperbolic as you're saying everyone else is. This is a normal level of dissatisfaction and you're making every bit of unrest seem like a riot.

Call me a casualfag but I don't need anything else from the version update, I'm perfectly content now.
EDIT: I never bothered with Windower macros since I didn't and still don't have a problem hitting 2 or 3 macros to get something going. I have my macros set up so it's all pretty natural to hit a few buttons to get everything set up for a spell or something.
Am I wasting time and efficiency? Maybe, but it's a shitload easier than freaking out if Windower gets broken, looking over my shoulder every update to see if SE is going to ban hammer Windower users(ITT), or playing on another console(which I finally will now!).
I'm with Mr Lordwafik on this...
As a mage (Blm Brd Smn Sch (lolCor)) I enjoy the background music far more than Battle music. The occasional times I go Cor to Salvage, it pisses me off that I have to endure the Battle music when I find Salvage music far more enjoyable to listen to.
Fku SE, Fku.
Did you miss the part where SE said using 3rd party tools is a no no? Perhaps look at your gear and decide which pieces don't really need to be macroed in because it's a minimal improvement to have that extra 1-2 strength on a WS?Originally Posted by SathFenrir
It might be a shocker, but the game can be played without massive gear swaps.
Really guys, if I were a dev, I'd be asking myself why I tell you guys anything at all. I figure out a way to get around a technological hurdle that addresses an issue that some of the playerbase has talked about, and am rather pleased with myself. Do I:
A. Say nothing to the playerbase, and have them get pissy because I say nothing?
B. Release it as yet another tidbit to let them know what's coming, and have them get pissy because it's not exactly what some of the other playerbase would like to hear?
The world doesn't revolve around you. Get over it. Some people do like hearing about any improvements, no matter how small and insignificant they are to you. Everytime I read a damn whiny post, I can't help but see a spoiled child complaining that they got a choo-choo train from that particular present, instead of the airplane they wanted. Even though there's a bunch of other unopened presents still sitting there.
Seriously, grow the fuck up.
For the record, I personally feel it's a very minor thing, and don't particularly care about this particular update. Just like I didn't care about the latest doll festival one. I want to hear about the Summoner spirit mp restore thing. But I didn't come on here to whine that they released this info, instead of the job one.

EDIT: The biggest plus to the server side saving of macros is hopefully it can save when I make the macro and not when I do a full shutdown. I can't believe how pissed I was when I got Chappie and had to change my RDM macros then later in the night have my system freeze and then wipe all my changes because I didn't do a full shutdown.
There's music in the game? :elmer:
Maybe /target <bt> will work full time in alliance now. Could be cool.
Sath just wants to maximize his potential on his character to have the best possible gear for any situation, there's nothing wrong with it and it's exactly what I did when I built my macros.Originally Posted by Kenji
Yeah, shit sucks when the last line on a macro gets chopped off from lag but I stack my macros accordingly with the major/more important switches being the first ones that I hit. I also mash Ctrl+E to make sure my gear is correct and if it's not I'll toss on the right piece. I usually don't have to manually change gear but sometimes the lag fucks things up and I'm fine with it.

hi2u solution you should already be using.
I hope the battle music thing is optional. Sometimes I love the music (Salvage) and don't want to hear boring generic fighting music.
Okay, let's run with that line of logic. I'll use a 3rd party add-on to trick the game into thinking I have max stats and skills for whatever I want to do. I just want to maximise my potential on my character. I have all the gear anyway, I just don't want to bother macro'ing it, so it's okay to just pretend I have all the stats they would give all the time.Originally Posted by Auspice
Wanting to improve your character is one thing. Using a forbidden program to do it is another. Yeah, I know someone will bring up claim bots. In all honesty, I don't care about claim bots, or windowers, or your extra macro tools.
I DO care when you try to cockblock a change legitimate users would like, because it messes up your illegal tools. I bet RMT would whine about any changes to the game that prevent pos hacking. So we shouldn't do anything about that, amirite?
Pretty sure the macro uploads are optional, else SE will be dealing with some more endless phonecalls to the info center about LM-17s. The way its worded implies an option.
Personally, as one who plays on about 5 different systems and PCs, the ability to port my macros and markers from one to the next is a welcome welcome addition.![]()
As far as the other stuff is concerned, I'm meh about it.![]()
I'm not advocating the use of 3rd party programs, I use the official SE Windower and stick with the in game macro system. It sucks that we have to adjust our play styles to the limitations of the system but that's the way the game is so we have to deal with it. Should we have to deal with it? Probably not, but QQing here on a forum isn't going to change the fact that unless you want to break the TOS and use 3rd party programs to "adjust" the game yourself, you have to make the adjustments and deal with the limitations of the system like most players do.Originally Posted by Kenji
