I'm pretty sure what the server side macro thing means is that it allows you to 'upload and save' a set of your current macros to the server.. which you can then proceed to download and overwrite the set that is on ur console whenever you want to. It makes no sense to auto-save.. because even with legit players, those who play on multiple platforms probably already have varying macros on their various platforms.
My ps3 macros are only about 1/2 complete compared to my PC ones cos I keep tweaking it, and it probably wouldn't be auto-syncing because not everyone wants to use the same macro sets on different consoles.. It definitely will be an optional thing and is meant to be more of a convenience.
For those who are getting all paranoid over being banned, I say you probably don't have anything to worry about. Theres a great possibility you don't even have to use this system at all, so your macro set wouldn't be saved onto the server. From a server-load point of view, its a lot less taxing to have people save stuff on to it when they want to instead of it being an automatic thing, especially since it isn't crucial at all.
Either way, I highly doubt they'd be scanning your macro entries for windower macro codes.. And since it doesn't actually affect the mechanics of the game much more than in-game macro swapping, shouldn't constitute anything that SE would wanna hunt players down for...
I agree with Toth tho. Its better to take each good point about update notes with pleasure. SE isn't particularly obligated to make these improvements to begin with, but they're doing so in consideration of players.. so its a step in the right direction for them...
also, if you expect less from them, you're not setting yourself up for disappointment each time they deliver on a different aspect than what you want. Its mainly a perspective thing i guess
Your scenario seems exactly how they will implement this, Spira. I hope you're right.
Way to fail at reading comprehension. I said *MASSIVE* gear swaps. I did *NOT* say "Gear swaps aren't important." If you're the type to not comprehend what you're reading, then yes, ZAM is that way ----->Originally Posted by SathFenrir

not gonna stop windower macros, can kiss my fucking ass/ban me, i dun give a flying mother fuck.
oh and lol the music change would have been nice if done years ago when most people didn't play with music off.
How much slowpoke does there need to be in this thread. You can bind window macros to keys without using in-game macros.
So I should gimp myself because using windower is naughty and evil? Fuck off.Originally Posted by Kenji
Windower is evil and must be destroyed... oh wait SE copied the unofficial windower, stripped it of anything remotely useful and then launched with a huge disclaimer that they arent responisble for anything that happens while its running after people *gasp* bitched that full screen mode was stupid.
Seriously the arguement about 'advantages' is so 2005.... if SE had their way everyone would be playing with 6line macros, bloodtanking, meleeing with avatars, hitting HNMs with D rank weapons, hitting TP macros every 5 sec with <call3> tags while camping Hydra.
I guess doing research online for an event is an 'advantage' to legit players that only play on consoles and cant access resource sites hm?
Macro uploading is great, everything else is doomed to obscurity.
Good game man, seriously, good game lol.
I don't use windower macros, and sometimes I actually like to listen to the ingame music.
Metah wins again, no?
When i saw 'Battle System Adjustments', i thought they were gonna finally fix the additional effect: terrorize on spells. ~.~
or fix that bullshit 'you must wait longer' when you disengage and engage quickly.
If I could change anything about the battle system, it would be the engage/disengage delay.Originally Posted by ronin sparthos

Seriously, who cares? I've read every update detail thread so far and most of it has been full of people bitching nonstop.
"OMG! Who *CARES* about DNC and SCH AF?! That only affects DNCs and SCHs! LAME!"
"Oh, great, more missions? I bet we'll get 1 more CS and *MAYBE* an uncapped, spawned NM fight and thats fucking it..."
"New campaign adjustments?! Campaign = dead game, gtfo SE... no one does Campaign..."
"New weapons we know nothing about yet?! Probably worse than the most disappointing weapons in the game, they probably make the LOLmood look godly, NEXT!"
Bitching isn't going to change the update details, and it only makes you seem like immature whiny brats. I'm not exactly excited about many of these changes, but who cares about them?
SE must be doing something right to keep you playing, and so far *NONE* of these update details have affected any established content beyond Campaign and WoTG areas.
Why bitch about something that doesn't even affect you?
P.S. Sath, this is for you:

It's so you can suck out all of that sand that's in your vag. That shit must itch like fucking crazy!
edit: spelling
fix the fucking retarded bug or what the fuck that causes you to be looking straight at the mob trying to throw your boomerang at it in wide open space and it tells you that you can't see it.
Thanks, I needed that, definitely the fix I needed for the mass influx of stupid to the boards over the past 10 days, completely solves all my problems.

What's wrong with add effect Terror that needs to be fixed? I only know of Jettaturra and that seems to work fine, although a lot of mobs resist it. This isn't a rhetorical question, I'm curious if there's some bug I wasn't aware of.
Yeah, but they could instead just add the attack delay *after* you engage, rather than before, which screws you out of your next attack also as you spend that time engaging instead.Originally Posted by SathFenrir
