No, the whole point of the article was that that display is full of copies they could actually sell right now if Nintendo would let them, and there are a lot of those sitting in WalMarts right now.

In other news, I want to kill a friend living in L.A. A Sears he lives by sold him Brawl today, so he is playing it and I'm not. I went to every Sears in the city just now but no one was stupid enough to sell me one (even if they had one). He posted a pic of it:

It seems to have been mostly the department stores. Sears wasn't supposed to let it out but did, apparently ONE Sears in my city did sell them, but I think Nintendo got after them for it (A lady I called said, "No we don't have any copies, but we were told by Nintendo that the streetdate is the 9th, sorry"). Maybe they are making sure the stores are well stocked, but i still think it's shitty that we could have had it over a week early if Nintendo had said so.

I'm gonna try again early next week to buy it anyway, I know their shipping days.

I think we're getting enough to cover reserves. I hope a bunch of people come in looking for it without reserves, that'll teach them to turn me down!

Did any who work at GS get an email recently about the tournament? My friend did, he said it confirmed the starting lineup as the only playables, and the Wiimote/Nunchuk controller. Also, they are setting the game to tournament mode (so no character switching bewteen matches), the default stage is going to be Battlefield, and there will be a 32 player limit. I'm gonna try to see if I can get the email to copy/post here.

The rules say something about that if the people can't decide on a stage they either pick random or the person overseeing the whole thing chooses. Wiimote and nunchuk is the standard, but I think the rules only said that the controls provided were the ones that are going to be used.

they weren't supplied by gamestop, gamestop wasn't giving anything, they specifically said, "prizes will be supplied by nintendo", they're just hosting the event.
