Gamestop Midnight Brawl Launch "Biggest Tournament Ever"

I was trying to get the manager to kick people out if they weren't playing lol. We went through and let everyone choose their characters though.

Tournament Report: Roughly 18-20 people showed up. There was naturally this meant people got to skip to the second round without fighting(for better or worse)

I got to pick my own character. Also we played under a 2-stock 3 minute rule. So yeah, my store was pretty fucking awesome.

There was three "good" players, me and two other guys. We all fought our matches and wasn't able to get any(I think we were the only three that did considering how far we advanced). GuyA beat GuyB, then GuyA fought me at the semi-finals where I lost. GuyA then won the finals against someone who played only 2 rounds.

I lost for a really stupid reason, but I knew that would happen considering how new the control set up was for me(and uneditable). Kirby vs Ice Climbers, I swallowed(the wrong one while at that) instead of hammer in the air and way too close to the ground. It sucked mostly because if I had landed(and I would have) it would have been my game. I guess it's a good thing I lost to someone decent though.

Another gamestop is having a tournament(different sponsor) this sunday. So I'll train for that.

Showed up at first gamestop at 10pm, all spots filled.

Went to another gamestop, by this time 2 girls had joined us and we just ran inside to check it out and see if we could sign up at this one. Not even joking, as soon as I stepped in it smelled like sweaty fat kids, and people were all huddled up in the corner of the gamestop with the TV and brawl hooked up to it. They didn't even need to be crowded together, they just were. On top of that, right by the door I came in at there was this hugeee kid who was noticeably sweating and literally "panting". It was at this point I just left, it would have sucked to stick around even if I did get to play. Besides, I doubt the 2 girls I was with would have been up for going inside given the situation, it would've been even worse for them.

We ended up just going to sonic, got my copy at midnight though. My friend and his girlfriend went to another store to get his copy though, since I reserved mine at the first gamestop we went to. As soon as me and the chick I was with left the store she said "I was way too cool for that." I told her to shut up and then almost as if planned some kid jumped in front of us jumping up and down shouting "I got it, I got it" at someone apparently far away because we didn't seen anyone. We both looked at each other and laughed then left.

I am a little disappointed I didn't get there earlier to play though. Brawl feels much slower than melee and such but I think I could have easily done well in the tournament, especially after catching a glimpse at some of the matches.

I haven't really noticed a difference in speed. I think the only thing slowing it down is the inability to wavedash every.

I did pretty well! I made it to the semi-finals. There were 50+ people there, and I used PT. I picked Squirtle by accident Round 1 (wanted Charizard), but the speedy little bastard impressed me so much with his UpSmash I used him all the way to that round. I actually kinda got annoyed, because I *should* have won it, but a Hammer spawned on top of my opponent. I didn't actually die to the Hammer (Squirtle's SideB is prety good at dodging it) but I rolled right off the side of the stage and he followed me down. I had nowhere to jump to but into it. >.<

I'll have to call up tomrorow. It's happening this sunday. Apparently it's for the smaller gamestops. I forget the name of the sponsor.
