I never thought I'd see another IRON drama thread, brings back some memories.

yea -- i feel like picking up ffxi after almost a year and a half.

i remember talking with some people a few months ago, reminiscing on the good ole days of ffxi. naturally, i asked if IRON was still the hotshit linkshell -- and when i was told IRON disbanded, my foundation was shaken at its core.

Since, i've committed suicide twice, genocide once, and am harboring anti-Pollack sentiments. Things just haven't been the same.

A friend of mine I still play with from Bismarck told me they were slightly ahead of my guild in progression, I don't feel bad at all now.

Got my 87 Pally too, luckily I had some folks able to loot my gear for me.

Gonna be tough as hell to rebuild him... I had a 'unique' build. He didn't get good in solo situations until the 70s. All he was good for was one-shotting certain stuff.

we've heard that on gorefiend, archimonde, vash, etc. There is only two bosses he has issues tanking. Third stage of Requilary of Souls (can't dump rage fast enoug, so we have a pld tank), and Kael, where we have a standard cookie cutter hp blood tank handle him. And even then, if worst comes to worst, he omgz respecs and regems. oh noes

Why don't you have him do that now? He's doing such a disservice to you guys by gemming so awful and by missing imp shield block. You'd honestly be better off getting a T5 geared druid and having him tank everything because he'd have more dodge, more HP, more armor and more threat.

Have him respec to imp shield block (shouldn't be hard, it's one point), teach him how to keep shield block up at all times possible, tell him to stop wasting the guild's red gems and pick up 15 stam gems in most of his slots and you'll be amazed at the results.

(PS - I posted the armory on my guild's board and our MT laughed...and I don't think he's caught the spec yet either)

why should he now. he's not doing us a disservice. only taking 10 hits on gorefiend while we go balls out. hate's never been an issue, he has over 18k hp fully buffed, and never have I heard a healer complain about keeping him up, or a dps having to hold back due to hate. one of our non cookie cutter shiv/envenom spam rogues pops a 5k crit envenom 15 seconds into a fight and the mob doesn't even blink at him. anyrate, arguing wow on a ffxi forum is getting boring, and I don't feel like feeling the wrath of bancat among others. if you find his tank build bad, then you find it bad and nothing is going to change your mind. so if someone can cue the arguing over the internet demotivational poster, we can all move on
