You don't need BLU/NIN for JoL, either BLU/WAR or /DRK or /RDM will do even better. Your damage taken is practically freaking low so you don't have to care if either Thunder IV or Blizzard IV has landed on you. The trick is time your Zephyr Mantle (and Blink if /RDM) for single target spells. Then spam Exuviation, Saline Coat and Metallic Body (and Stoneskin if /RDM) every cooldown. If you really in need of a spike hate while you don't have any JAs cooldowned, eat a sushi, get your +ACC gears then Cocoon (and Defender if /WAR) + Cannonball staight to its face, it helps.

Yes, I know, that's why I clarified that I was talking about BLU/NIN. The point of that sentence you quoted was that BLU/NIN doesn't have enough hate tools against something that you can't be in close range to. I didn't intend to suggest that there weren't better subjobs for JoL, JoL was only brought up since it is something that isn't kited, yet you don't get in close range when tanked. I suppose I should have worded it differently to avoid that confusion.

In case this wasn't addressed, scrap the light resist gear, even 72 with light carol (+40) isn't going to make you resist frequently enough to be worth it, keep to magic damage taken -% and MDB.

With Saline Coat ready to cast when you know you are going to be copping a buster, you shouldn't be in any kind of danger of dieing anyway.

Back after the Proto-Ultima we had. Survived Citadel Buster everytime without a problem. Got two legs from the drop. Fairly smooth run except at one point as you'll notice in the screenshot.

Hah, I had PLD74(lollllll) and NIN75 and 14 (basically, I counted PLD) 75s in total, and my parry was only 173 when I quit. =P Shield wasn't capped either 'cause I went /NIN (and I held hate, THANKS) from 68 onward because I got tired of dying and playing PLD 'the right way' or what all the noobs think is for XPing until you're 75. Oh well.




But yeah, I'm sure you had an easy time doing that on BLU. I did the same thing the last time I fought the thing.
