Is stage6 where ALL the other divx sites linked to, or will they still exist? ex. 66stage.com has a lot of movies in divx format

Google should buy DivX and just use the Stage6 software on YouTube instead of whatever shitty stuff they're using now to get all those low rez videos/spam/etc.

Alternatively, update Youtube from flashplayer 7 to flashplayer 9, which supports h264/aac, which is far superior to divx.

You all keep complaining about low quality vids, but theres an easy solution: torrents. Unless you're talking about using the streaming vids at work or something and you have no alternatives. Then yeah, that sucks. Consider torrenting hi quality vids at home, burning them to a DVD or portable HD and just watch them at the office like that. Unless your cpu at work also doesn't have a disc drive, USB port, or WMP installed...

I haven't touched torrents since being exposed to tv-links and the like. Fuck that.

I shan't miss it (crazy buffer tiems).

Stage6 was an absolute godsend when you have shit like youku/todou floating around.

Don't even know why I'm saying this at this point. But I used to have buffering issues on stage6, and then realized there was an update for the Divx plugin on the site. After updating it, I never had more than 2 secs of buffering.

DivX seriously spoils you in terms of quality. I refused to watch youtube or any of those other crappy websites after learning how great Stage6 was. I have to finish downloading an anime series before thursday, damnit.

Only problem I have with this is that it was not like they were like "Hey Guys, lets just pull the plug on stage6!" it was a "Hey, we don't have the funding to do this anymore... sorry."

and the way that petition is worded with "Dissapointed with the decision to close the site" is basically like "Hey fuck you I don't care if your losing money, leave it up."
