    [Ramuh] Aftershock Linkshell (BC)

Hi everybody, recently my server, Carbuncle, has become the hosts to a variety of endgame linkshells, likely to capitalize off of the fact that our server is JP-dominant. However, they've been causing a problem for a few of our domestic linkshells. Cross-posting for a fellow PocketAces Dynamis LS member of mine:

    Hi everyone,

The heads of PocketAces asked me to post this as we quickly reorganize from our intended glacier run. There is a new or unfamiliar Dynamis linkshell, Aftershock, which is apparently not aware of the calendar system on Carbuncle. When PA members arrived for our gather time at the Glacier tonight, Aftershock was just about to enter.

Our members informed them that we had scheduled the run on Dynamis Calendar (which apparently is down still or again) and vanagarden. Members of Aftershock responded that Dynamis Calendar was down, and that they therefore could not check to see whether our claim of scheduling was correct. They further advised us that their leaders had clearly noted a glacier run on their linkshell's private forum's calendar, and that they considered their private calendar the controlling reservation in this case. We're not sure whether they checked vanagarden, but it appears that they consider vanagarden unreliable -- or at least less authoritative than their own private calendar. Unfortunately, they did not provide the address of their private forum's event calendar.

Aftershock's leaders are, so far as I'm aware, Iskendar, Alanio, and Crumpet. I don't know them, but it seems that they should be a part of further discussion about the dynamis scheduling system. I'm sure that this was a misunderstanding of some sort, and that it can be resolved. I also recognize that it would have been difficult for them to transfer to another zone at the drop of a hat -- it took PA a full 10 minutes to move to Qufim.

If you have any questions, please seek me out here or in-game.

This has apparently been done by AS members 3 times in the last two weeks. Following this, a post on Aftershock's own forums was made, directing them to VanaGarden. It was met with flaming and arguing to the lines of, "using that calander to 'claim' your zone would be like using a third party tool to claim... and that's a violation of the TOS... and violating the TOS is bad... we don't do bad." (I make no accusations of their practices as I don't camp kings; however, I know from my roommate who does that they've claimed the last two weeks of Fafnir.)

Does anyone who is on Ramuh have any information about Aftershock's practices regarding Dynamis, or endgame in general? Carbuncle is a mostly civil server, and every linkshell is (for the most part) compliant with the online calendar system. Will Aftershock continue to be a pain in the ass for the other endgame (and even open Dynamis) linkshells that originated here?

    Re: [Ramuh] Aftershock Linkshell (BC)

Ramuh's endgame isn't extremely cut throat but some people think it's ok ninja Dynamis from people (enter with one person just to get the zone over a group that has gathered.) Very minimal MPK. If Aftershock is the group I think they are (CAE members.) they are a pretty good group. Minimal trash talk from what I noticed with my few months of being on the same server as them. I don't think Ramuh even knows or cares about Dynamis Calendar.

    ....snip...

I'll second these sentiments. Ramuh's NA linkshells don't use Dynamis Calendar at all - in fact in my experience running and scheduling Dynamis runs for my old linkshell we would have groups deliberately schedule their runs an hour or less before ours even though we had been doing runs at the same day & time for over 2 years. I had this experience with two linkshells - a JP RMT group called DisneyWorld and a noob endgame LS called Evangelion, which also siphoned members from my old LS.

On the other hand, our JP dynamis groups do keep a calendar, so if you communicate with them they tend to be very cordial and will help to fit you into their schedules.

In regards to AfterShock.. as Dex said most of them are former members of CAE. I personally have never had a good interaction with a CAE member unless I knew them before they joined.

If this is in fact ex-CAE, they are typically cordial if you talk to them, i.e. you don't cause shit with them and they won't with you, when MogHouse was new to Kirin they were civil about letting us alternate pops and helping with minis when both of our LS' showed up at the same time to do it. They had the same amount of FFXI-App listers as most of the other King-camping shells on Ramuh, but they aren't as rude as a few of the other ones here.

In terms of them using DynamisCalendar, it's likely new to them, most Dynamis shells on Ramuh don't use it, mostly because as Olo said there are a few shells who would use the information to deliberately gank zones, and there are has been a huge surge in the number of Dynamis/Endgame shells recently on Ramuh, making Dynamis competition extremely stiff during NA primetime on almost every night of the week, we've had to move our runs up 2 hours just to have a shot at claiming a city on Sundays recently.

It was in the way that Pocket Aces came out and expressed their discord that sparked members of Aftershock to respond the way they did. You can imagine that the endgame scene isn't thrilled with another group of people coming in a clogging their scene, so they respond accordingly. After a while people tend to be on the defensive tip and react with angst. We never used Dynamis Calendar on our server so we did our first Dynamis without knowing that you all did. The second time we were waiting on a response from the Admin approving us to the site, it never came. We had a 2 hour window until the next LS was on the schedule so we went in, not expecting to do as well as we did. Third Dynamis we did was this last one. We weren't aware that you were using Vanagarden, so we didn't know. We couldn't sign up for any dynamis nor see who was where.

I understand that you feel threatened by a new LS and are only doing your territorial pissings but seriously, get to know people before you try to flame them on every single FFXI message board. Realize that if you talk shit to someone as a means to initiate conversation, you will get handled appropriately.

I'm not really related to this BC at all but that sig reminds me too much of Flux, I had to adblock it since I kept thinking he was posting
