WipeOut was one of the first games I got with my PS1 and I have fond memories of it. The PSP version of the game was alright I guess.. I hope this ups the ante a little bit more.

only 8 racing tracks, game was fun and will be fun but i'd probably get bored of it quickly. Might still get it though, those games were always a blast.

Thats why I'm hoping they add something in the way of a multiplayer arena or some other facet that will give it more replay value. Perhaps car (is that what they're called?) customization with parts that you can buy from gaining money in career or something. And more parts that will be available for download via it's online service. Or perhaps they could add some sort of variations to the maps where it would be the same run through but with different obstacles/enemies chasing you solely to kill you/time limit that would give it more replay value (a la Super Mario Galaxy).

It's coming out over PSN (download), and not on physical media. IIRC, it's a remake of the original Wipeout for PS1, hence, the 8 tracks. There's another version coming out around christmas that will be a full-fledged Blu-Ray release.

If you haven't played XL, then you haven't played Wipeout. Hands down the best of the series.

I love the series, all fired up for this one. I wish it was a "deeper", a totally new gen. game though.

$20 according to GameSpot.

Unsure if I'll get it or not since I already own WipeOut Pure and can get Pulse for $20 itself locally.
(WipeOutHD iirc is basically the content of the two games with HD graphics, some online play, and a couple game modes stripped out)

Bought it yesterday and it's worth every penny, alot to do aswell especially with the trophies. Only 8 tracks so far but they are supposed to be releasing more through psn which sounds cool, plenty of crafts to choose and skins for them too so pretty big game for the price. On top of that reviews seem to be good, I think the lowest it got was a 7.5 from Gamespot, majority gave it 9/10
