Rune Chopper Vs. Fort. Axe (DRK Zerging)

Okay so i got pretty much my whole ls shitting funny colours lil while back because i said Rune chopper out parsed Fort. axe on a drk with a decent haste set. i wanna ask what other ppl think/have experienced because so fare i see Chopper on top. anyone else care to get into some detail of this i would like to do some parses this week and post my results a few friends did (Zerg on marids a little while back now which is where chopper won) any help be great.

it's.... situational! \:D/ the less delay reduction/haste you have access to, the better fort axe gets in comparision to rune chopper.

Rune Chopper wins when you get a decent amount of Haste because the 9% Haste it gives you is an incredible increase in damage when you're in the higher %s of haste (80%+), and will outdo the double attack on the Fort Axe by far. The extra 9% haste over Fort Axe just through weapon choice also lets you exchange excess haste slots for more +HP, further increasing its damage potential. Rune Chopper is a beast in the right hands.

wow that was really helpful. still alot of arguement on is it much more worth it to use baha scythe only because of the acc granted from the higher skill would that make a diff with double att on the ear and maybe corazza on the body? anyways this a huge start apreciated i'm do my own parsing and shit and post what i find if it interests anyone

Gloom Breastplate on the body.

Don't want to give up the extra souleater damage, and you're looking at losing 5% haste (head) or 3% haste (legs) if you use AF head / Sable Cuisses.

If you have max haste possible (ie Dusk+1 Gloves, Speed Belt, Blitz Ring) you can afford to use Homam Corraza as Body and Chaos Burg+1 for head... Which is the most ideal combination in my opinion if you can afford to use it without losing haste.

However if you're short on haste, you definitely don't want to trade any single % of haste for anything else before you hit 26% total haste.

Acc on BZ doesn't really matter for anything you'd zerg either. Feint should be on, and even with almost no other accuracy you'll hit 95% acc on just about any mob that has Feint with your GA skill.

Yah, I meant with B Zaghnal you shouldn't use the Corazza/AF head since you won't cap haste, period. Unless I've missed something :O

On RC you can if you're really well equipped.

No matter what your using to zerg with on drk haste first in every slot possible until you reach cap.

Chopper gets sluggish after Desperate Blows drops. So if your fight lasts past the 30s mark, you should swap over to a multi-attack weapon once DB falls off.

would the haste belt the one lvl 40 i think pld/war/drk? enchantment haste, is that not better then a speed/V belt? i know for a fact it doesn't cancel out haste that is casted on u it stacks with it but how much does it weigh in?

It counts towards magical haste which can easilly be capped without the haste belt. Capping gear haste via swift/speed/V belt would be better.

ok so, in a smaller zerging stitch where u don't have SV double march its good ? other then that stick with a swift or Speed?

If you're getting soul-voiced marches + spell haste, your magic-category haste is maxed. If the marches are not soul-voiced, you should use the haste belt to cap magic haste, then make adjustments in your gear to bring your gear total up as close to 26% as possible.

With top-notch gear, there shouldn't be a difference in your swing-speed between soul-voiced marches and normal marches (i.e. it's possible to cap gear haste either way with a chopper). Only difference is you have fewer gear slots to devote to HP and whatnot when you don't get soul-voiced marches.

Figuring these things out yourself is really the only way to be sure you get your build right... so I would suggest you take a look at the haste thread and go from there.
