I just hope 70 and 75 cap gets added. I want to finish off leveling my NPC.

Worry not, after the update we'll return everyone to their regularly scheduled bitching about purple Fafnirs, cross-server drama about Fafnirs and why AV cant be defeated unless you notice the secret patterns hidden in the 2hour smoke.Originally Posted by AzazaelFenrir

If you are leveling armor, you really need to be able to check and lock armor pieces before you call. I got all the armor I wanted for my NPC (darksteel body/legs/feet) just by spamming bronze bolts at rabbits in Ronfaure (and went 0/4 on JeJ in the process); it took me, at most, 3 tactics pearls start to finish. In any case, unless they revamp the armor system, people leveling their armor in TAU or WoG is a non-issue.
Furthermore, I find it rather interesting that people are complaining about potential NPC abuse, yet everyone cheerfully agrees that BST needs a serious buff. Do you realize what would happen if BST became the bandwagon job du jour? Do you seriously believe that people who were frustrated and angry at others leveling NPCs at their exp camp are just going to smile and nod when a pair of BSTs destroy the zone? Some consistency, please.
People still camp kings? lol.[/quote:37zse82q]Originally Posted by Kenji

QFT. With the amount of bitching that goes, the reason given was that SE hadn't released any information, nor the AV video. Well, now they've released it and they've given several snippets of information, and it still goes on. The justification will continue. I suppose it's cathartic.Originally Posted by ronin sparthos

Trust me, not a sane soul in the world really cares that much.Originally Posted by Toth

And being 3 hours behind the pioneers has its advantages. For one, it means someone will know where I'm supposed to go which saves me 3 hours of wandering aimlessly searching for the next mission or requirements to enter the new battlefield.Originally Posted by Ryko
You are one of those guys who buys the discounted strategy guide with the game, so basically you never actually have to play the game yourself. Atleast thats how it appears when people say shit like this.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Again, I think the difference is that BST is a job. While BST parties in known party exp camps are annoying and stupid, its more forgiving that said EXP is going towards a PC and not an NPC.Originally Posted by Spider-Dan
It's an MMO you tardshit. Take it from someone who was one of the first to do a large majority of the shit in TOAU (on my server and in general for the early stuff), no one gives a flying fat fuck if you did it first. You're not a pioneer, you're someone with far too much time on their hands and far too little other shit to do.Originally Posted by Siatdiat
You pretty much missed the point. Trying to get an achievement before others is truly faggoty, wether it is doing a quest or kill the new HNM that is easier than previous HNM in the game. You shouldnt get so worked up about shit, jesus calling me a tardshit and everything. I'm not Kenji dawg.Originally Posted by Ryko
Add: I reread post and you also imply that the only reason to do things in game is if they will impress other people, anything that doesnt isnt worth doing. I have been on BG forums plenty of time, done my share of ffxi server firsts in the past, and I have plenty of similar experiences as you I'm sure. I'll admit in 2004 I was trying to do things before others and when I did and people were impressed, I found it rewarding. Since 2004 I've grown up I guess though. Who is the tardshit exactly?
Indeed. So for them to say new armor sets kind of makes me think(or want to think) they will be adding a ToAU(and maybe WotG set, but not much gear to be inspired by). On the other hand, they could just be adding higher tiers to the current 4, like Abjuration or Salvage models...Eh isn't armor just purely graphical and does nothing for NPCs i thought?
Sounds more like your worried more about your precious exp then anything else. You bring up spider webs. But I can easily just go to the Boyada Tree and cause the exact same effect to the Spider web market as I could outside Whitegate. I could easily grab a Puk from depper in the zone and flood the web market.Originally Posted by Byrd
Last I checked people still go outside Whitegate and just kill random stuff for the hell of it. Go outside and farm webs, skill up numerous items. What difference is calling an NPC gonna make. You complain that shit is crowded yet i'd wager do nothing to remove yourself from the crowd. Claim your there for the exp bonus. So why can't someone pull their NPC out and take advantage of that as well. Take their NPC and fill in the 6th spot of a pt and help up the total amount of exp.
Nothing has changed in the 5 years. Camps will always be overcrowded, idiots will always camp ontop of each other, refuse to find something different. I'm surprised the player base finally realized fighting tough mobs gave out better exp then It to It++ mobs.
I hope they expand on the level cap of the Fellowship. That they expand the story to involve the TOUA area. Since their was reference to the lands to the east.
Dude your statement wasn't even remotely misconstrued, how does not really caring to waste time not "playing the game"? Let's face it, there are many definitions of "playing this game" or the content you'd need to hit, none of them involve "dick around with my thumb up my ass for 4 hours before someone with half a brain finds a 20 minute alternative that everyone else adheres to." And I say 'someone' because, like I said, no one really gives a shit who it is. Trust me, no one sane is going to be gung ho about WeOverestimateTheGrandeur content, all of which will take up less than an episode of gargoyles, which had far better content for the time involved anyway.Originally Posted by Siatdiat
Most people saying BST needs a buff are saying it needs one -for party play-. Despite that it's slow and all, most aren't saying that a solo BST isn't powerful enough. The only real thing is having pets around in that case, which isn't so much the job as it is the zone design.Furthermore, I find it rather interesting that people are complaining about potential NPC abuse, yet everyone cheerfully agrees that BST needs a serious buff. Where BST is lacking is when it can't have an EM pet right there to charm. Which would be a lot more specific to party/alliance play than for solo XP. Improvements would ideally be things that make BST a more consistent, competitive party member for all activities.
With the way things are designed, that basically calls for stronger/scalable, more controllable jug pets.
except you're ignoring the fact that TOAU spiders have a better drop rate. However this is a stupid point to be argueing imoOriginally Posted by Rags
