    I'd say the surprise of the day was Hossa to the pens. everyone was saying Hossa was gonna go to montreal or ottawa, when I heard he got shipped to pitt I almost shit a brick. I dont see how they'll be able to afford crosby,malkin,hossa,staal,fleury....and still be able to dress a full NHL squad after this season, but for this run they have as much firepower as anyone in the league. I dont see them coming out of the east but if they can snag a top-4 seeding they could do well.
    Chris Drury is fucking awesome. I can't believe the Sabres let him get away. I'm sure you know the video I'm referring to, but go on youtube and watch the video of him from last year's playoff series against the Rangers when he put home the tying goal with 7 seconds left. That video gives me the chills every time.
    100% fucking agree.

    I just like the fact that both Drury and Briere have been able to excel in the NHL despite being "undersized" by NHL standards. Drury was a bad ass when he first started out in Colorado. Briere took a little bit longer to develop but when he did he's just as good as Drury.

    So looks like I'm staying in with the girl on Thursday. The Pens will be playing Boston and Hossa and Gill will be suiting up for it. God I love living in Pittsburgh lol and I will never ever take it for

    I Wish I lived in NJ again sometimes so I could go to devils games more easily, I usually make a 4 hour drive down once or twice a year to go to them. the prudential center they just made is reallllllly nice, and I have been going to games since I was like 5 so it's more of a pastime for me, really fun. Semi on topic though I also want to see where Pittsburgh goes with the trade because they have a ridiculous offense now

    oh I remember that goal, I remember it VERY WELL. I'm a die hard rangers fan. night of game 5 I went to a local bar/grill to watch the game when I got out of work. was mostly packed with rangers fan, small crowd of sabres fans surprisingly. when that puck went in (and I am by NO means surprised, thats how Drury has made his career) the place went dead except for the few sabres fans. a good friend of mine who met me there immediately ran away from me because she knows how nuts I get over my hockey. Drury has been an absolute treat to watch, as a ranger. it took him a long time to hit his groove but now he's just on that level that has made him one of the better players of his generation. I remember being at a bar when I left game 6 against buffalo, my buddy and me were drowning our sorrows away and drinking with some people who drove down from buffalo (sabres fans, you guys are cool, I like ya) and we kept joking on them that Drury was going to look fantastic in rangers blue. needless to say when that came to fruition (and Gomez...who minus being a former devil, has well...been fantastic) I shit a large brick. between Gomez, Drury, Dubinsky, and our other up and coming centers; the rangers maybe have the best lineup down the middle outside of pittsburgh

    Hehe, good post man. Don't be surprised to see Sabres fans coming out of the woodwork in strange places. Most people leaving Buffalo and move to other cities because of the failing economy here, but they still cheer for the Bills and the Sabres. On my honeymoon in Hawaii I met a few Sabres fans there and in San Francisco. It was great.

    Glad to hear Drury is hitting his stride now in NY. I wouldn't mind seeing the team you have now winning the cup.

    BTW, went to the Sabres/Preds game last night for Steve Bernier's debut. LOL, he scored the first two goals of the game. The crowd went nuts for him. He ended up with 2 goals and 1 assist for his debut as a Sabre.

    Though they got Tuomo Ruutu on deadline day, their noise was made earlier when they got Samsonov, Corvo, and Eaves.

    I sure hope that Stillman and/or Commodore consider coming back after the season. ;_;

    Surprising too is that they are finally playing well... and it's without Brind'Amour, go figure.
