    Economics class survey

    Hey BG. :hynotoad:

For a project for my econ class, we have to conduct this survey about a potential business. The business is to implement a transportation service to and from bars/pubs using limousines. Its somewhat like taxi cabs, except more professional and sophisticated; you make an appointment to set the date when you want to be picked up, which bar you want to go, and when you want to leave.

If you could copy-pasta the questions, and type your answer below, or you can PM me your answers if you do not want other people to see them, that would help a lot.

    1. Do you feel that this transportation system will reduce the amount of drunk drivers on the street?

    2. Would this service create more jobs for Americans?

    3. Would this service increase the flow of revenue for the bars and pubs?

    4. Would you like your favorite bar to provide a transportation system for you?

    5. Do you think that this service would be useful to those who go to bars and pubs?

    6. Have you ever driven a car after having a drink?

    7. Have you ever been convicted of a DUI?

    8. Would you use this service if you were given the choice to?

    9. Would you pay a monthly fee for this service? If not, would you rather pay only when you use the service?

    10. Do you think it would reduce the amount of income taxi drivers would make?

    1. Do you feel that this transportation system will reduce the amount of drunk drivers on the street?

depends heavily on cost. there's nothing downscale about taxi's really - most americans just prefer to drive themselves places (we have a love affair with our cars)

    2. Would this service create more jobs for Americans?

unlikely, unless you work hard to really expand the market typically you will simply shift jobs from taxis to limos.

    3. Would this service increase the flow of revenue for the bars and pubs?

decrease: this discourages (in a subtle way) the tendency for heavy drinkers to bring a buddy as a designated driver - this DD will typically have one or two drinks at the first bar and often will buy food (most bars provide non-alcoholic beverages gratis to the DD).

    4. Would you like your favorite bar to provide a transportation system for you?

to what end? it's a cost to them and doesn't increase revenue so it would probably result in decreased service elsewhere

    5. Do you think that this service would be useful to those who go to bars and pubs?

not any more than taxis are, possibly less depending on cost

    6. Have you ever driven a car after having a drink?

negative. I walked or get a cab if I don't have a DD

    7. Have you ever been convicted of a DUI?

    see above.

    8. Would you use this service if you were given the choice to?

    negative

    9. Would you pay a monthly fee for this service? If not, would you rather pay only when you use the service?

again, you have to be at least competitive with taxis.

    10. Do you think it would reduce the amount of income taxi drivers would make?

    definitely.

    1. Do you feel that this transportation system will reduce the amount of drunk drivers on the street?
Don't think so. The main constraint still to be the time to pick up. Since most ppl going to bar not always will set the time they will leave the bar.

    2. Would this service create more jobs for Americans?
Probably, this will still heavily depending on the system itself. Whether the driver getting the fix income, or their income depends on the number of customer.

    3. Would this service increase the flow of revenue for the bars and pubs?
    No.

    4. Would you like your favorite bar to provide a transportation system for you?
    I would like to.

    5. Do you think that this service would be useful to those who go to bars and pubs?
Somewhat. See the answer in question one. Had to schedule time to pick up from bar/pub is one of the main problem to most ppl.

    6. Have you ever driven a car after having a drink?
    no.

    7. Have you ever been convicted of a DUI?
    no.

    8. Would you use this service if you were given the choice to?
mostly. Still gonna get know about the details on this service.

    9. Would you pay a monthly fee for this service? If not, would you rather pay only when you use the service?
Pay per use. Or can be introduce by somesort of prepaid card, which can be use for this kind of service, and independent on the service providers.

    10. Do you think it would reduce the amount of income taxi drivers would make?
    significant? no.

    1. Do you feel that this transportation system will reduce the amount of drunk drivers on the street?
Depends on who pays the cost for the limousine, drunks rarely want to pay for a taxi and I don't see them wanting to pay for a limo. definitely wouldn't work if paid through taxes, or the business providing the service. Drunks should ride home in the yellow cab or the black and white police cruiser, or the bus.

    2. Would this service create more jobs for Americans? possibly, but would likely go through an existing limo service and iirc limo drivers need an extra license? not many ppl down on their luck would go through that to do a job.

    3. Would this service increase the flow of revenue for the bars and pubs? doubtful, I forsee it being a money sink if they pay, or stay the same.

    4. Would you like your favorite bar to provide a transportation system for you? I don't get drunk enough where I can't drive, or I usually have someone to contact.

    5. Do you think that this service would be useful to those who go to bars and pubs? depends.

    6. Have you ever driven a car after having a drink? After having a drink? yes. over the legal limit? no.

    7. Have you ever been convicted of a DUI? no

    8. Would you use this service if you were given the choice to?no

    9. Would you pay a monthly fee for this service? If not, would you rather pay only when you use the service?no x2

    10. Do you think it would reduce the amount of income taxi drivers would make? yes
