PS3 80GB MGS4 Bundle

It doesn't really matter, but it does effect future games in specific series, etc., as well as whether the developers would choose to go multiplat or not to try and cover the cost/cut down on losses/make more money cus they're greedy whores/whatever it is that makes their day.

Honestly, half the reviewers bashed LO and it's a great game. I stopped trusting sales/reviewers a long time ago, I just try the game for myself and if i'm not sure i'd like it, I gamefly. (yeah I know, taboo right? sorry, next time i'll spend my 65 bucks on a game I didn't like and end up trading it in for 30 after a week. >.>) If I hated it, no harm no foul.

Really looking forward to this game, at least i'll have some other purpose for my PS3 other than the occasional Uncharted/bluray movie.

Well yeah I understand that, but like I stated earlier my favorite RPG series SMT isn't so hot and popular on sales here in US but they still bring out the games which I am very thankful for. So what's going to stop these developers? I am sure most of them have money to fall back on if they are spending millions worth into the development. Gaming is as big as it has ever been right now, I don't think we have anything to worry about.

Stupid question, is 80 GB the one with full backwards compatability? My PS2 stopped reading discs a long time ago so I missed out on alot of games I wanna play, I'll definately be picking this up if it comes to Europe and it's the one with full/almost full backwards compatability.

My friend owns about 50+ PS2 games and all of them have worked. Also there is a site with a list.

Yeah, I have some of those as well (like xenosaga <3) that didn't do so hot yet they still managed finish the series off (even if they dropped a couple of titles in the process...)

It seems that developers want to make as much money as possible these days though.. a lot of games are going multiplat, and I guess bundling MGS4 with the console somehow shows Konami that Sony is serious about keeping MGS to itself and will do whatever necessary to do so, even if it means not making money on the game themselves (or at least, not as much as they should've.)

most likely just a reflection, as i believe the motorstorm box had something of the same. the ps3's are just really shiney/reflective so they portray it on the box.

My Dad wants a PS3, I might convince him to get this bundle and just give MGS4 to me! That way, having a PS3 already, I still win.

Also, lol @ people downplaying MGS. It's not huge but fucking hell people, this is a title that a lot of people have been waiting for. MGS is a very accomplished series, one of the most polished and fine-tuned out there. Hideo is a marvelous director/game designer and I will never stop trying to ride his nuts.

Well, only time will tell how this works out for Sony. Frankly I don't give a shit, I want MGS4.

Hmm, they're giving access to the MGO beta if you preorder MGS4. Hopefully they'll include that in the bundle, it would be kinda silly not to imo (and they damn well better release the beta in EU).

This information is incorrect it has the same PS2 backwards compatibles as the current 80gig+Motostorm bundle. So its around 90% PS2 compatible. For the Europe people you can always import, with exchange rates the way they are you end up spending alot less this way. The PS3 has a universal power supply so power problem isn't anything to worry about.

Its not full, but the 80 GB is up to about 98% BC. Pretty much the only games it doesnt play are the games no one cares about. So unless you want to play games like Barbies dream house or some shit like that, it'll work.

From what I'm reading Europe isn't getting the MGS4 bundle or the GoW PSP bundle either. Who knows though since that all could change.

At any rate, it does sound like a good deal (especially with the DualShock3 tossed in; I couldn't stand the SIXAXIS's lack of rumble when I played the demo kiosks), may actually save up for this if more worthwhile exclusives come out/get announced close to its release date.
