I got a jaywalking ticket once... I was walking home from my college (which was in the middle of nowhere), and some cop ticketed me for crossing the road to get to my apartment. It was a country road, with absolutely no traffic, and no crosswalks for at least a half mile in either direction. It was impossible for me to not jaywalk to get home without walking through the edges of peoples yards on the other side of the street due to the lack of a sidewalk on both sides(or just walk through the road), and would have been ridiculous to do in the winter. I couldn't stop laughing and asking if he was serious when he was writing the ticket, surprised he didn't give me shit for that. I don't think he ever filed it thou because I never had to go in and pay the fine or anything.

It's probably just on your record, collecting interest and giving the next cop to pull you over for something else an excuse to haul you in.

My brother once made a slight mistake on his tax return, shorting the IRS like $20. They said nothing until about 5 years later, when they finally decided to notify him that he owed $200. Somehow it was collecting interest all that time, and they never bothered to mention it until then.

The pic below is what the guy's abdomen and hips did to the nose, a little further up you can see where his head hit the hood.

Darwinism's all well and good until you get 10 points on your licensce, a lawsuit and/or manslaughter charge.

The guy walked out into the intersection and the light was green for my sister's lane. He wasn't even in the crosswalk section, he was running through diagonally and couldn't see the traffic coming because of a lot of backup in the turn lane. Apparently she launched him a good 20 feet or so, and the guy got up and walked around until the paramedics showed up. Police report said he was at fault, and he got a ticket for jaywalking.

I've done this a couple times with parking tickets.

Also, if you get a speeding ticket, you can get it killed if the radar gun is past its inspection date. File a Motion of Discovery (will cost 5-15 bucks) to get the inspection records from the police.

I live in Florida... and to make it worst, a rural part of florida. I mean, it is very very hard to see anyone walking in florida as it is, much more in a rural area. Overall, I'll just pay the fine, I dont know what I would do in court if the cop did show up...

Apologize, tell the judge you'll be more careful next time and will remember to always look for a crosswalk.

Sometimes just being apologetic and nice about it without making excuses will get your fine reduced or eliminated. Some judges just like to see if you're an asshole or not because they're sadistic and enjoy anally raping smug sons of bitches in front of everyone.
