Only people I could see, even though I think they would all lose, are Filho, Lindland, Frank Shamrock, and KangOriginally Posted by noblemountain

There's 6, and I'm not saying he doesn't stand a chance against them or they'd win for sure, but they're all good 185 lbsers that could face him. Filho is off the list cause he's off the juice.
Lindland will probably happen within the year...shamrock is done...Kang has to prove a lot before he gets a shot at a contender. Misaki and Akiyama you could make legit arguments for, but i don't see them coming over here...not that dana wouldn't pursue them, just that they wouldn't take the same offer from dana that they would from a japanese org. he made offers to gomi, and gomi took less money from all reports, to fight in japan. they're just more comfortable fighting at home, and i can't say i blame them.Originally Posted by Einherjar
manhoef vs silva would be a fuckin sick fight. i think manhoef has better pure standup, but that in MMA silva would still beat him. although itd be interesting to see if hed actually go for takedowns to submit him, or if hed want to stand
i think silva is infinitely better in MMA, but i still think manhoef is one of the few guys left could make a real interesting fight for him

It's not a matter of just being more comfortable, from all reports the endorsement deals japanese fighters are getting in Japan are huge, and even if they were tops in the divisions in US, they wouldn't get same money from other sponsors. Also isn't it Kang that gets major sponsorship in Korea too? So he's another guy to stay fighting in Asia where his bread gets buttered,
As for Linland, the UFC doesn't want to sign him, he already sat and waited for their offer until Joe Silva finally phoned him and told him they weren't making an offer. He now has signed a deal with another company. He hasn't announced who that company is yet though, it is believed to possibly be an upstart organization.
yeah, Kang is GOD in korea...i wouldn't budge if i were him either. fighters in japan make sick endorsement deals and even mediocre fighters have sponsorships that nobody in america has. i.e.- bob sapp being on t.v. EVERY FREAKING SECOND OF EVERY DAY...Originally Posted by Einherjar
i didn't know about lindland signing anywhere else, just read that he was waiting on the ufc to give him a fight...but meh...he's not a big loss imo. i really don't see anyone in the division that anderson couldn't beat fairly easily. might be time to pull a roy jones jr. and move up/down.
I don't particularly like Lindland, however, I would like to see him fighting in the UFC. I believe that Anderson would handle him like he did Hendo, however, it would add some depth to the MW division, which is always a good thing.
would like to see robbie lawler, bustamante, sakuraba, chonan(who beat silva before), rogerio noguiera, ninja rua, get signed to fight him.
The reason the Linland news is small thus far is because he isn't allowed to say who he signed with yet. It's rumored that the company that affliction was going to start may be it. It should be announced who he signed with in the coming weeks.
also, sad shogun v liddell wont happen.![]()
Lawler - signed to elitexc or one of it's companies. UFC doesn't think much of him. Silva would pick him apart.
Bustamante - not really in a position to be offered that fight, no real thoughts on it, besides him losing. Also he is BTT or was, and so was Anderson Silva, so they may not agree to fight each other.
Sakuraba - Getting him to fight in the UFC won't happen. He is a God in Japan, so the only way would be for the UFC to go over there, this would be an awesome match up though.
Chonan - I'd like to see it but he just lost to Karo "Unanimous decision" Parysin.
Rogerio Noguiera - former BTT and Blackhouse, currently trains with Silva, not going to happen. Besides I don't know that the UFC would sign him. Having 2 guys that look the same and only slightly differ in middle name and nickname is too confusing for casual fans.
Ninja Rua - He's not doing that great lately. He's 5/10 in his last 10 fights and beat every non noteworthy guy and lost to every guy worth mentioning, so I wouldn't count much on him.
Sak, Chonan and Nogeiura would all be cool, but only even likely fight would be Chonan if he gets a win next fight.
chonan is signed in the welterweight division, Silva is in Black House with the Nogs can't remember if bustamante went or not as for your other points, not a big fan of MMATH since things can go either way.Originally Posted by Einherjar
