When the maitenence guy finally let me in, the fire alarm went off and I decided to ignore it (in my appartment, we usually either have a real fire, or a fire alarm, but never both at the same time). This turned out to be the ONE time that there was a fire alarm AND an actual fire. But I didn't even realize it until my brother called me and told me that there were five fire trucks outside. I started to go down the stairwell and realized it was thick with smoke. Instead of having enough common sense to take the other stairwell, I decided to run down 16 flights of stairs in thick black smoke, which left me coughing and feeling sick, dizzy, and lightheaded. Then when I got my car jumped, I went to the gas station, got home, left my car lights on AGAIN, which caused me to be late to school the next morning because my battery ran out and I needed a jump.

See, instead of doing a stupid thing periodically, I like to saturate all of my stupidity into a few hour time frame so I can hurry and get it over with.

Btw, fucking rofl@bringing up Darwinism when as humans we have BORKED EVOLUTIONARY PROCESS.

Guess what, intelligent brains and things like love, compassion, generousity have allowed us to decide that the weak, the old, the sick, the insane, all get a relatively large chance to live, instead of being eaten by GODDAMN LIONS IN A GRASSLAND, OR WOLVES IN A FOREST, OR SIMPLY STARVING TO DEATH.

Survival of the Fittest is MEANINGLESS when applied to the human situation, and bringing it up is one of the stupidest things whoever did so has done recently.

Most of us are very unfit animals.

Bear Grylls is barely a fit animal, and the guy eats live snakes and climbs mountains for fun.

They didn't because they chose to go to the street life. They weren't forced to, and they didn't have anything holding them back that me or my brother didn't have holding us back as well. People are choosing to go the wrong route because either they're young and naive and/or because they don't realize the true consequences of their actions. Either way, the reason we don't have more people doing said actions isn't because they are at that much of a disadvantage, but because people just aren't making the right choices.
You are saying it wasn't hard for you to be successful because intelligent black people are not discriminated in the american school system? I'm not american and don't have alot of insight in this specific subject, but that might very well be true. But I don't see how it says anything about people who truly are disadvantaged in the school system. There aren't any political programs encouraging advantageous treatment of ugly intelligent people in the school system, for example. What about them? Is it just as easy for them to be successful?

Probably not, so to make up for their disadvantages they have to make a higher % of "right" choices. And I'm absolutely sure there are people who have made the same % of right choices as you, and still ended up as complete failures due to their genetic or environmental disadvantages.

That's just the tough/easy way of life though, and as long as we are born as unique individuals there will be generally disadvantaged and generally benefitted people. The problem is when people are discriminated for traits that don't affect their performance in that specific area. Discrimination is a remnant from our animal past, when other social groups than your own couldn't benefit you, as you weren't able to communicate with them or learn from them. It was natural to hinder them as they were purely competing with you, co-operation outside your own social group was hardly beneficial. This is not the case for humans and that's why it's incredibly ignorant to assume that the "laws of nature" can simply be applied on human society just because we are animals as well. If you want to discriminate, you should at the very least find proper reasons for doing so, and not just the usual "it's the natural thing to do, survival of the fittest", because that's not at all in line with Darwin's ideas. Overeating if there is food available is also the natural thing to do, but that doesn't fucking benefit you, does it?

Semi-tldrd this argument, so I'm not sure if this is entirely on the derailed topic, and the last paragraph isn't directed at Woozie specifically.

I think the problem is that people want to believe that for whatever reason, it was harder for them to get ahead of the person next to them. I guess this validates their hard work or some shit.

I know some people need to make more right choices and such, and I even admitted that things aren't exactly spread evenly over all people. Some people will have to try a little harder to make it, just as I had to. My point is that everyone does get that chance. If a person makes the wrong choices in life and ends up unsucessful, then the reason he's unsucessful is usually because of the choices he made, not only because of the situation he was born in to. Using the situation he's born into as an excuse is just invalid, usually. The vast majority of the people in these bad situations weren't so severly handicapped due the situation they are born in that they had no chance or anything. It may have been harder, but not hard enough to the point where their situation allows them to blame society instead of themselves for not making it.

You should try sucking a bit more dick, it might get you somewhere eventually.

    Stupid shit I've done:

Tried to present an interesting argument in the wrong place
    Dating a friend
Telling said friend I didn't care if they still liked me and we could still hang out
Not studying when I could have for a DifEQ test (still got an 87 tho)
Considered dating an ex of a friend
Browsing forums at work (lol right now)
Gotten so angry during a DS game that I smashed the stylus into the screen and ruined the tip
that's all I can think of for now...

Re: Stupid things you've done recently

ehhh magus ur gonna get us 3day'd liek demo and um.. i forget

tried to rerail but i won't stand for that kinda garbage lol

i sent a pm with what i had originally typed, this thread was fun and um ya let's bring back the funny (plus i don't feel like getting dragged into a 3day for ruining someone's thread)

    anyhoo RERAIL PART DEUX

last night i got semi locked out, me and my gf were deciding whose place to stay at and, halfway through packing at my apartment to get ready to head to her place, we opted to just crash at my place and i somehow left my keys upstairs when i went down to get her in the lobby

thankfully i left my apt. unlocked (it's a nice building, i wasnt concerned in that regard) but in any case i didnt have a key for the lobby when i was bringing her up

so.. we're waiting in the lobby, expecting to be stuck there a while (it's nearly 1am) and i let a real stinker go to bug my girlfriend; she's all grossed out and decides to get back at me, saying "ohmigod, there's someone coming" and she got me, cuz i was like 'oh crap it hasn't dissipated yet!' anyway she was lying and i relaxed but this badboy of a fart was not leaving

she starts laughing for real now, and lo and behold someone does come to the lobby, and i explain as quickly as possible that my keys are upstairs hoping he won't smell it but i know he will and did

next thing i know the guy is heading to the stairwell rather than sharing the lone elevator in our 10 storey building and as the guy is opening the stairwell door and the elevator door is closing my girlfriend hollers to me YOUR FARTS STINK!!

really wish i didn't let that oen slip haha
