I'm mostly sick of it because it has an onboard video card and I wasn't paying attention to that during the buy since I wasn't playing any MMOs now whenever I try to play wow or do anything for school that involves virtual machines the video card likes to crash and/or be a fuckhead and lag OOOOOORRRRR restart by itself.

shorts it out. one of our customer's kids did that to a company laptop. fried everything.

Argh it broke on its own... I got home from school and a copasidor was knocked off the board and there were some scrapes on the board from it or from the past.

Get a 12v wire, touch it somewhere on the memory expansion slot area (plastic covered removed obviously), then apply the wire to any solder point. Should be enough to fry it without any burn-mark indication.

worked at the compusa tech shop about a year ago, guy did this... except with jumper cables. came in, laptop was charcoal black. you could see the physical marks on the bezel from the teeth of the jumper cables. we obviously didnt give him his replacement.

Wow that's hardcore. I would have replaced it after laughing my ass of simply for the amount of effort he put into it. Hard motherfucking core.

I worked in this industry (Would rather not say which company). Easiest way to do it is take a screwdriver with a plastic handle and touch any part of the laptop's MB or memory expansion area while it's running so that you complete a circuit that shouldn't be completed. This will fry the board almost instantly and turn off the computer for good. It's impossible to trace as well. Good luck.

So what are the chances they will be able to fix the capacitor that broke off? I guess it has a plastic bottom to it so the guy said it might have been glued on with a special glue.

I'm not sure. I've got about 1000 dollars worth of TV (two TVs) that were fried by lightning that I'm having someone look at before insurance says they can cover it. What are the chances a regular TV shop will fix it meaning I can't get a new TV?
