Friend of mine got, and I was second behind a Monk.

Two weeks later a Bard who I hadn't even seen since I'd been in the shell (about 2 months at this point) showed to lot after having none drop. Then the Monk got his finally, after a guy who is always Pld and Blm decided to lot them for his War he never uses, having gotten Zmitts and Wlegs already.

Then a Blm with Bst 72 powergrinded Bst to 75 to lot em, took another couple weeks for him, doing two or three per week on average. Then someone I knew but didn't realise was in the shell started /'ing them, but got an Osode which dropped them barely behind me in points.

So at this point it's been something like 23 or 24 Byakko's since I was Second the first time, and 6 since being second this time, with a Bst 73 who /'s for them (but couldn't get cause his Bst was just 70 at the time, Can equip > all ftw) working on his Bst.

Figure sometime this summer I might get em, unless the shell dies...

(Which the one btw i got outlotted on by the only other person who could lot against me, who then quit ffxi 2 weeks later).
My previous ls wouldn't let me even lot genbu's kabuto after being in it for 3 weeks. Then its about 2 months into that shell and byakko's drops. Guess who gets em. Some war who just dinged 75 2 days before that (his first job) whose only been in the shell for 1 month. So I bounced out of that and next thing u know they start saving tons of each god to finish off sky for good and go 9/11 on haidate right after i quit.

This is why I like points-based linkshells. Yea, I said it.

Uh, it is a points based LS that I'm in.

It is an old shell though, so the days of job priority have gone unfortunately (otherwise lolbrd, lolbst, lol3rdjob getting it over a lolwar main), and for some reason my timing sucked at getting into line so much, that I decided to do it when people with gobs of points decided to get back into sky.

So yeah, cutting and lines does happen with a points shell unless it has a points cap, or you lose points for inactivity.

So, I get around to being #2 for Haidate for the second time (first time, people who had stopped lotting/hadn't been showing but had a fuckton of points/didn't realise they wanted them til JUST then decided to lot, so I went to #6 one day) in two months right.

Last 6 Byakko's:
1: Efeet x2
2: Efeet
3: Ahead
4: Nhands +Axe
5: Nhands x2
6: Nhands

Toss in a couple random money items, and insert veins opened so far on my wrist that my hands fell off, because the guy in front of me is CURSED.

Also got my first Kirin killshot today, O.Ingot+Shining Cloth ftmfw, Taru TH failed me that time.

Those 6 Byakko's btw, the Nhands ones were all TH3, I think the Ahead was too.

Funnily, I was trying to be pessimistic while hoping that of the 3 pops today, I would at least be #1 for next time... said (after rolling 199 twice in the space of 5 randoms) that our Byakko's today would be #1 Nhands, #2 Efeet, #3 Ahead x2.

Haha we're actually like 6/8 on Haidates, we have great luck there which makes up for the fact that it literally takes about 7 hours of farming per Diorite for us, so we can only do Byakko like once every 2 weeks.

The rest of our Sky has been sucking huuuuge though, lol, we pretty much just need a few A.Hands, 2 Sune-Ate, 1 M.Head(which has never, ever dropped for us in 6 months XD), and that's about it. Our recent kills:

Genbu: Shield only
Seiryu: A.Legs x2
Suzy: A.Legs x2
Byakko: A.Head x2
Seiryu: Kote, W.Hands, A.Legs
Suzy: A.Legs only
Seiryu: Kote, A.Legs x2
Suzy: A.Legs only
Genbu: Something I don't remember, but it wasn't A.Hands or Shield, lol.

No exaggeration, that's 9 A.Legs in 6 kills, I've dropped them for inventory room twice and still have one.

Most points systems I've been involved in, you lose points for inactivity, or at the very least, you can't lot straight away when you come back. It's a little more lax with my Salvage shell but we don't have issues. XD

Your situation just sounds retarded, with all those people cutting in front of you.

Also, a good points system tries to take away as many points as it gives out each week. Points systems that give out too many points and don't take enough away cause any new members to wait behind older members for anything the older members want, even if the 'new member' has been in the LS for months. That's also why I like bidding systems.
