    Re: Learning new things from your dreams

    I get alot of weird dreams, although I don't realize how weird till a long time after. Most of them consist of this: Me getting in trouble for something stupid. Totally weird huh? not finished though... Eventually, I act out that dream subconsciously but it never involves me being in trouble. lol

    ex: I look at a spot on my wall, then to a lamp, and then my door... mom busts through door mad about something and I'm probably in a world of hurt (but I wake up there). I know when it happens too, sometimes when it happens I'll know it is one of those dreams so I try to fuck with it by doing something random. 3 months later I realize it's happening so I do the same fucking random thing.

    I'm probably like 3 steps from the loony bin or something though and just don't realize it.

    Last year while we were reading hamlet, I had a dream where the teacher was calling on everyone in the class to recite some lines back. I was the only one in the class that did not know any lines and felt stupid etc. When I woke up, all the lines the other people recited were word for word correct. It wasn't a small amount either, it was about 5 pages worth >.>;

    And honestly now, I could barely tell you what hamlet is about lol

    Yes, it is.

    Last night, at a certain point in my dream, I was in a mathematics class, and while "listening" to the teacher that was speaking, I was studying the book that the class required. From what I remember, it was some sort of discrete mathematics that I haven't seen before. I am actually taking Discrete Mathematics right now, and it's funny how, in my dream I was looking at something I have never seen before in the class. Now here's the thing: I wake up and a few minutes later, I take a look in my book, flip a few pages, and I see the exact thing I saw in my dream..O_O. Furthermore, I have never turned to this page of the book ever, or have never heard of it until my dream came up.
    There isn't really enough concrete description here to at least give you a symbolic analysis, but from a vivid standpoint it was probably your brain telling you to get ahead in class by making its own sense of the work you're doing by advancing the ideas you are learning into another plane altogether and attempting to bring it to your attention. This is pretty much defined as precognition, but for the purposes of your dream it is just a major coincidence that you happened upon the same thing you were going to learn about. It's possible you may have zoned out while your teacher was telling you about it, or you read it in your syllabus, or some other influence made you think about it and it manifested in your dream. Either way, it's always really cool to pre-empt something in a dream and then experience it in real life. It makes us feel surreal.

    And again, don't listen to whoever said you can't learn anything you are taught in dreams. Your dreams are manifested by electronic signals from your brain, and they are the same carrier signals that retain memory blocks. If you can remember your dreams, you can sure as hell remember what you are taught in them.

    Technicaly, if he's seen it in his dreams, then that means he's seen it before while awake. So if he dreamt it, then he already knew it. Remembering is a different deal. So he can't really learn it from seeing it in his dreams, because it actually works in reverse, even if he's not aware of it.

    Your brain picks up on things that you sometimes don't always consciously acknowledge. So while you may not have heard of it, your brain did process the information and it did manifest itself somehow in your dreams.

    So technically, yes - it is possible to learn something you weren't consciously listening to by having it manifest in your subconscious. Sorry for the confusion.
