It's online, I'm a retard on the phone. Very inarticulate, I always end up watching youtube or something, online is much better IMO

Edit: Where I can watch youtube without it hindering my ability to pay attention

You seem extremely not concerned given the level of seriousness this situation presents. If the woman I wanted to marry was potentially screwing around with some guy, there would be more than a distracted AIM conversation as a result...

If you aren't giving her the attention that most women like, and rightfully often deserve, it's not surprising she would try to get it from him. Not saying she is riding him like a free carnival ride...

...but when the carnival is in town, you generally ride the rides.

Hey, women of BG (real or otherwise), you guys like a little jealousy from your boyfriends/fiancees/husbands, right? Or is there a line?
Yes, a little bit is good. It shows that you want to potentially see where things are headed and that you want a girl to be yours, which is awesome if you're wanting the same thing. There is a such thing as going overboard, though. I had a couple of guy-friends that I hung out with sometimes while my boyfriend and I began dating and he asked me "how come when we don't hang out, you hang out with them?" I assured him that they were just my buddies to grab a beer with once in a while and that them and I had no history together. I did, however, take the hint that it bothered him a bit and so I stopped hanging out with other guys when our relationship reached a more serious level. I liked that I knew exactly when he wanted to step things up a notch and that he wasn't overly obsessive about it and he let me do it on my own by dropping a hint, and not accusing me of doing anything wrong.

And I've done that for her. I stopped talking to two of my best high school lady friends (Who had a short history with me) before she even asked. I could tell it bothered her.

Like I said, I'm pretty terrible with emotions, I think I'm more stoic when it comes to these types of situations. We talked for a bit online then we both took a break. I went to play frisbee and rock climb, I'm about to call her again soon. It is serious, and maybe I'm delusional about the whole thing, but I don't feel like this would be the end for us. It would just really suck (it would kick in later) even breaking with her for a number of months.

Do these friends in question only hang out with you because they want to fuck you?

well that's all well and good when you're bi

But really, I seriously don't think girls and guys can honestly be friends. There are always hidden agendas (more with the guys than the girls, personally) which is why I don't hang out with any guys one-on-one anymore unless it's my man. It was a personal choice, not enforced by him. It comes with the territory of a serious relationship in which I don't put myself in any situations that require an explanation or a my-word-against-someone-else's in the end. I respect him that much where I am willing to give up that freedom. Funny how none of my guy-friends ever call me anymore when I'm not single

That's why you make friends with ugly girls, the kind that you would only fuck with enormous amounts of alcohol. Or a lesbian.

I have plenty of girls that are my friends that I hang out with and I wouldn't dare call them ugly. I even find them cute/attractive/fuckable, but it's not anything I'd *actually* do. See, the thing that's lacking in this relationship in this thread is trust. Some couples have it, some don't. I don't care who my girlfriend's friends are, as she doesn't care about mine. I'm sure others don't have that issue either. This relationship just seems like it was a sort of rebound thing at the beginning anyway, and she's got underlining tension and affection for said ex-BF. D:

I do have some ugly friends too, though. I'd never admit to it in front of them. I like my balls where they are, thank you.

Had to bold this. I'm your friend, yet I have no desire to fuck you and I don't mind chatting with you either. See? Guys can be friends with girls. It's just called self-control. xD

Re: Probably the wrong place to ask......

I think guys can be friends with girls, but it's hard, and you can't be a fucking retard about it. Like.... most guys or girls know when a person of the opposite sex is interested, but they kid themselves and keep them around because it makes them feel cool or they think it can still work out. It's a weird line, but I think eventually, if you get serious enough, those friends have to stop.

I talked to her yesterday for a while online, then I took a break and came back and talked to her again. She wasn't happy about the whole thing. She thought it was stupid that I was giving her an "Ultimatum." She called it that, I just explained my feelings and stuff. So yeah, she eventually, after like 2 hours of trying to explain herself and her friend and why they are just friends and this wasn't supposed to be a big deal, said that she would stop talking to him. But she's really not happy about it, it doesn't sound like. She feels like I'm picking on her. But she also said that she understands where I'm coming from, and it's real unfair to make me have to deal with it. so then I would ask her what she thinks I should do other than tell her I don't want him around? She never had an answer. She just thought it was unfair.

So whatever. The conversation didn't end on a happy note. She's obviously frustrated and I'm not sure if that will get better with time, or if she'll resent me. She just kept saying that he didn't mean anything bad, he just wanted to come down as a friend and he got upset when I said no. She also gave an example of a couple she knew that is friends with the girls ex-fiance. So in her mind, we should all be friends and get along, and I really don't think that's going to change.

Stick to your guns. Do not give into her guilt trips, her whining, or whatever she throws at you. The second she fucked her best friend is the second it made it unacceptable for him to come in contact with her while going out with you. Tell her it would be different if they never hooked up, but now that it's proven they are physically and emotionally attracted to one another it's just too much for you to handle. Make sure she isn't lying to you either.

my dad quoted a comedian once, when I was probly a bit too young to be hearing something like this lol.. but here goes:

Guys don't have female friends; they have girls they've slept with and girls they haven't slept with yet.

I'm sorry, but this is seriously retarded. Guys can coexist with girls as friends without wanting to put their dick in em. It's possible. D: I've even had it gone as far as the girl wanting to get together with me, but I didn't want anything to progress further because I valued our friendship too much, and relationships between friends can end badly when it elevates to "Friends with benefits" so whatever. Take that for what you will.

I agree totally with Akiyama. My best friend is a female, and there is NO chance in hell that we'll ever hook up.

If you can't handle being friends with the opposite sex, when you know you two won't hookup...well, then you're pretty much a fucked up individual.

I've kept in touch with three people from elementary school throughout the years of moving all over the damn state and 2 of them are girls. I'd skip going to the pub on a Friday night with co-workers if it meant I got to hang out with them. They like video games more than I do, they like music almost as much as I do, and they drink more than I do.

Only thing that gets annoying is that when we go out to drink or eat I get to deal with the cock monger males that try to get their numbers all the damn time.

Edit: And when they're both PMS'ing at the same time and start man-bashing. I usually call them raging lesbians when they do that and they laugh and shut up about it. :>
