Also, last I checked, black people can win Oscars just fine as long as they give an amazing performance. The great black actors have earned as many awards as the great white ones.

And furthermore, the people arguing agaisnt Darus are bringing up an absolutely irrelevant point. What you are arguing for is basicaly to have people stop saying nigger all together, which is absolutely impossible.

The only thing i see in this thread is two sides arguing impracticle things. Regardless of black people getting insulted by the word nigger anymore, others will still use the word regardless of whether you like it or not.

I was referring to someone saying that even if all black people no longer responded to the word nigger, others would still use it to refer to blacks. So i was wondering if this person expects the word nigger to just disapear all together.

I said what I said how I meant it to be said, I didn't say that there are as many people considered great black actors as white ones but those who are considered great black actors are treated with the same respect as the white ones.

And yes, it's very complicated, but delving balls-deep into the complexities here is something that is just going to get tedious.

Still I think it's kind of hypocritical to say that only one race can say the word nigger without it being such a racist word. People are people. As I said before, No one is able to choose what color they were when they were born, or what their ancestors did. I don't look at anyone of a different color as superior or inferior, so why should me saying the word matter because of what color my skin is? It also apparently matters what color the person you are saying it to is... for a word to be so upsetting because it's dividing the races, and for it to be ok for the race that gets most offended to use it, idk... it just hurts my head. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but maybe someone will understand what I mean.
