    Serious help needed.

    Ok here is my situation, but a brief overview of how I work things in hopes of getting all the facts out for any help I need.

    I logged onto FFXI today hoping to do the other branches of the first WOG missions. I am ABLE to log onto POL just fine, but when I hit the games button and pressed play on FFXI, I was met with this.

    "You have no Content ID for FFXI. Please purchase a new Content ID or reactivate a cancelled one in order to play the game."

    So I thought, oh crap, I might've been hacked... However, hacked people usually get their POL account jacked too, but I can log onto mine. So here I am worrying. I had a friend check his friendlist and view my profile. There are no FFXI tabs in my profile for my main and two mules.

    Now here is some info.

    - I logged on two weeks ago just fine... Haven't logged on within two weeks due to busy schedule in life.

    - I always have my password saved, so incase I ever did have a keylogger, I assume all they'd get is my extra security password, and not my main password since I always have it saved and never type it in (keylogging?)

    - I never let my friends use my PC or see me type in ANY of my passwords.

    - Anytime I update my password or such, I make sure to do a clean sweep of my system to make sure no spyware/viruses/loggers are on my PC.

    Now some info for today.

    - I tried to update my billing info, but it kept giving me a POL error.

    - I tried to reactivate my account, it said: "Error UCS - 1104: You cannot purchase a Content ID. Please try again after checking the following: *Make sure payment info is valid* Which I checked and it is. *Make sure your POL ID has not been cancelled* Which POL ID I assume is what I can get onto Playonline with, which I can.

    My friend told me I am overreacting and I hope to god I am. I ensure all my info is safe, and have never given my account info to anyone I know ingame, or in real life. He says my CC info is probably bad (which yes my CC hasn't been billed from POL, and I don't know if I have sufficent funds on their yet and can't find out until tomorrow,) and another reason was because billing maintenance was going at the time (about an hour or two ago.)

    I'm hoping this is the case, but if so, why would it show I have no Content ID's, or my characters, but I can log onto POL just fine, when usually non-payment results in a total kickoff of POL and FFXI until payed.

    Now my questions are -

    1. Is what my friend saying, true, my characters are still there, but the Content ID's aren't which make it look as though my characters have been deleted?

    2. If for some strange reason I was hacked, and characters deleted, can I call SE to get them back if I give them all the info they need?

    However, I hope it is due to maintenance and all the constant POL errors I was getting, and non-payment, and not the worst case scenario.

    I had this problem yesterday; just exited, restarted computer, whatever the problem was went away and I could log on normally.

    Unless someone hacked my account, took a look around, and gave it back out of pity >.>

    Yea my friend said my characters weren't deleted, and if this is all due to non-payment that is great.

    I just don't get how it could show your characters as being gone...

    Like I said I even tried resubmitting my payment info, just for the heck of it, and it wouldn't even go through, just got POL errors.

    I also don't see how anyone could get onto my account as -

    1. my friends don't know my info.

    2. When I log on, all i enter is an extra security password, never my main password.

    I will try restarting in hopes it was something that can be looked past. However if not, and somehow my characters are deleted, SE can restore them correct? I mean after providing them with the proper info and all?

    Accounts were billed today, so its entirely possibly your CC was denied or some random error occurred. Definitely try restarting POL, otherwise call them with your info and see what they say. If you've honestly never given your info out and are confident you've never been compromised, then its probably just a glitch.

    And yes, deleted characters can be restored.

    Ok Xav, that sounds a bit more reassuring.

    Yes I never give my info out to anyone... Friends, family, and definately not ingame.

    Here is what is odd to me though.

    Usually when non-payment happens to me, I need to pay my fees before I can EVEN GET ON Playonline itself... However I can get into POL, and it doesn't say anything about you need to pay this or that. However when I click play, it says I have no Content ID's.

    While I use Fraps to take pics for a journal I run about my times in FFXI, anytime I feel I need to change a PW or update payment info, then I always run anti-spyware/virus programs to make sure I don't have anything on my system.

    Like I said however, I can log onto POL fine, which kind of makes me think my bills went through fine for the month, or maybe it didn't cause I'm trying to access FFXI on billing day itself.

    I have just restarted my PC (restart, not shut down,) and it still gives me the same thing.

    If all else fails I will call them tomorrow. I know POL reg codes and everything, but if for super strange reason my char did get deleted they can restore it with items I had right (not that I had anything to uber to cry about, but it is still stuff that I need.)

    It's just a random glitch, people have complained of it before, and it's been a pretty recent happening. I think something went wonky after the WotG release, honestly, with the registering of that pack and such.

    Once you get into POL, go to the member menu and to the Content ID section and just see if you need to reactivate them.

    Everytime I go to the member area and select reactivate, it keeps giving me the error listed above.

    So you are saying this has happened to people before? Logging on only to see what looks like there characters have been deleted?

    Try clicking "Content ID" on the menu under the Play button rather than going through Service and Support or whatnot in the POL Member Menu. I had once where I kept getting issues trying to get to it one way but no problem the other.

    And yes, a lot of people have been saying that they've had to reactivate Content IDs lately after billing cycles.

    Ok so saying this, does that mean that those people even looked at their own profile and noticed the FFXI tabs (characters) weren't even there, under their profile?

    I had a friend check and when he looked up my profile, the only tab he seen was a POL tab, no FFXI tabs for my two mules and my main.

    I just wish it were tomorrow already so I could log on and check (although I keep spuradically checking off an on as we speak,) and then make the appropriate phone calls, should they be needed.

    I really don't know, I rarely use the POL stuff regarding profiles etc, so don't even know exactly what you're talking about. I assume that those tabs or whatever would only show "active" Content IDs or something though, so if your IDs are for whatever reason deactivated right now, it's probably showing up null.

    Most everyone who has said something regarding these issues said it was fairly easily rectified; so perhaps you do have something more serious at issue. Don't know what else to tell you; I can't even peruse around POL myself right now due to billing cycle and not having the money in my account to pay this week.

    There, ask your friend to look up me on POL, my handle is Ashira just like my character name. See if I pop up with Ashira or Ashira and Leeluia or none. That'll answer that question at least, since my Content IDs are also currently non-active (with nonpayment, you have to reactivate Content IDs when you catch up on the billing).

    Seen something similar to this very recently with two people. One person in my LS was able to log into his account fine but could not select his main character. It didn't appear at all on the screen, just his mules. After about one day his account miraculously fixed itself.

    The other guy had the exact same problem. His main and all but one of his mules were gone. In his account history it showed him having about three content IDs available for the last 6 months, even though he'd logged on about 48 hours previously on his main. His account too "fixed itself" but this was nearly a two week wait for him.

    Some glitchy shit going on... but no long term damage done.

    LOL... it's possible I guess, since the original owner of the account was a guy (Ashira was originally a $1 add'l content ID!), and was in his 20s when he bought the game. I don't honestly know how those values are set, if it's off of the account info or what.

    Well only one Ashira pulls up at all when it comes to searching handles and that was the info, and NO, there were no FFXI tabs associated with that handle. Only a POL tab.

    I wouldn't honestly be worrying, if I could still access POL. Usually anytime my account is past due, I cannot even log onto POL until I pay the overdue fees, yet I can get on POL, but have no Content ID's, which is my only worry. Had I gotten the message, "your account has been suspended due to nonpayment blah blah as usual," I wouldn't be worried at all.

    reactivate your content ID when the billing maintence ends, everything will be back to normal and you can login right away. a couple months ago I got dissconected 20 seconds before fafnid window, couldn't log back in because of the same issue, I thought I got banned lol. nid ended up popping, was a flail and lots of fun I hear :ashira:

    had the same problem. if you don't think its the Credit card, then goto where you change your credit card information. When you change your credit card information, just go reactivate the ID's and it should work, thats what I did.

    This is a glitch or mistake or whatever you want to call it, that's happened tons of times before whenever the monthly maintenance for the billing cycle rolls around. There was a thread about it in Newbie just a couple months ago. It's happened to me three-four times now. Just re-register your Content IDs (might have to re-confirm payment details, I did).
